Nice to have a Java based game. I used to be a java dev. That's definitely a plus for you. I'm sure your theme could have been "Only One Java Dev" :)
Having said that, there's lots of room for improvement, but you are in the right track. Don't be afraid of testing things out and accumulate experience.

There is a lot you could improve here. I am going to assume this is one of your first times trying this out, and if that's the case, you should look up some tutorials on this kind of game! It's one way to jumpstart your experience so you don't start with nothing.
Completly agree with you on that first part!😅 But looking up tutorials for how to make a game like this one? I don't know, but I feel like that's kind of the point of game jams. Trying stuff out, and gathering experience.
Also please keep in mind that "Only One Night" was written in plain Java without a game engine. That's probably a bad excuse...😅

That does make sense! I have no idea how to program in java, and undertaking such a feat is impressive. Once again, a great start, I'm sure with more practice, you could make some great stuff!
