Including a tutorial is always nice! The mechanics were clever, too. I loved the theme interpretation.
The game had some flaws but was still fun to play. Difficulty was high, but that's fine. I was having trouble noticing the buffs from the friends.
This game has some real potential. I liked having little buddies and that there was a tutorial.
Here's the video I made of it:
I really like the direction this one is going! Art is really cool.
The text in in the tutorial overlapped which made parts of it impossible to read, but props to you for including a tutorial at all in such a short amount of time!
Kinda torn on this to be honest... the graphics and visual design is pretty spot on, and the game is really engaging, and while the gameplay is fairly simple it does work quite well... but there are a lot of things I can figure out if I'm missing something, or just not working:
1: the swords reach is MUCH shorter then what it looks like, with the sword going enemies with it's "lunge" but not actually hurting anything.
2: I can talk to the "posse" and spend the coins... but I never saw any noticeable difference in the game by doing so, despite trying it with health, eyesight or speed.
3: the enemy that can hit at range doesn't look like anything is coming off from him, so I just got randomly hit
4: going into boss room almost guaranteed all the posse died with no chance to save them because...
5: no way to tell posse to stay back... or stop moving. makes it hard to talk to a specific one (if that makes a difference)
6: except for selling things, what exactly does your posse do anyway? I'm still really not sure about that.
Overall: I do really like it, but there is a lot of really weird/confusing points.
thanks for your feedback I definitely over scoped the game the original plan was to have you posse fight along side you. but I did not have time to add that. the long range enemy was added on the last day to give more variety. the posse buffs have been working for me so could you give some more information on that. after the boss you should be able to find them but I will take a look at that.
That's some seriously fun gameplay. The style is charming and music fun. The posse could become a an interesting part of the gameplay.
Love the art of the game so far! It's super cute! Also, the idea of a dungeon crawler is really fun! I can't wait to see how it develops!
