Very cute, fun game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GBJam 5 games, if you'd like to take a look :)

This seems like a very competent Metroidvania. I love how squishy the player character is.

Really complete entry. The art is fantastic, the main character's animations are fluid and great. As are most of the game's effects. The level design is cool too, even for someone who usually don't play this kind of platformers. The controls are great as well. I missed the music, though! Anyway, kudos! You did great :)

The best game from this jam that I played so far! Graphics, controls and feel , music, level design... And it's incredibly long and polished for a jam game! Still trying to complete it.

About the Gameboy Feel, aside from some punctual graphical effects, moving the player feels THAT good that doesn't feel much like a real GB game. But hey, I'm not going to lower the GB feel rating because of something is better than I expected. That wouldn't make any sense! :P

Just to tell something that could've been better, maybe adding some backgrounds, improve loading times between rooms (after a long time playing it seems to take more time to load) and adding a map or something to visualize where the player is in that huge maze. Also, I found myself in some situations where I wanted to avoid a checkpoint but there wasn't anything I could do to about it.

Great work! :)

Really awesome work; very fleshed out and fully-realized with tons of variety. Platforming controls felt a little slippery for me, but otherwise great stuff. A map would've been a lovely too.

Very cute little game, enjoyed playing it :)

@Happy Honu Games Thanks for the feedback. Took me a minute to realize the cause of you problem. The ENTER key acts as the START button which happens pauses the game. When you pressed Alt+Enter it full screened but also paused the game. Which is why you couldn't control the character. Press ENTER again and it will unpause. Of course the pause would have been more obvious if the screen said pause or something ( > . <)

A more obvious way to scale game window up would be nice. You can make it bigger with Alt+Enter, but then you cannot control the character. The platforming engine is solid, but the game has lots of "gotcha" deaths which get annoying fast. Still, I can tell a lot of work went into building this world, whihc is good.

@CowboyColor - I haven't been able to duplicate a crash but have had reports (and been able to duplicate) it hanging or not advancing to the loading screen. I uploaded a "fixed" version that should hopefully resolve that. If you are able to try it, I'd love to hear if it works for you or not.

Game crashes after I press start on the title screen :(

Straight A for this cute little platformer. I also got the feeling that this game had quite some replayablility and depth.
