I really enjoyed how difficult the game was despite the movement being a bit odd at first. The visuals are well made. The music is a bop and creates a calmer mood for the player, which is great for difficult games like this one. There could be more sound effects but the sound effects that are present are nice to hear and fit the events on screen.

Solid game 👍

cool idea, but way to difficult. I was stuck down under for ever. I managed to get one bone, but I wasn’t able to do the high jump to reach the upper pad….

Developer

I could have definitely made the instructions more clear, but you're supposed to combine the jump with the dash to reach higher platforms

I would love for you to upload a video of the gameplay to be able to see more of the game. As it stands I am simply unable to get out of the hole in the beginning. And I've really tried my best for a few minutes, but it simply seems impossible to get enough height, no matter what kind of combination and timing of jump, boost and dash I use.

Basic control and movement feel good, but it wasn't able to convey that "Getting over it"-feeling for me, as that would have required me to make at least some progress and then fall back down again.

Still a solid entry with an interesting intro and nice basic mechanics. Good job!

Developer

I'm about to do just that to maybe help show how these jumps should be accomplished. It was set up with a lot of jank helping carry the mechanics with the Godot 2D character template lol

Video is now uploaded showing completion:

Loved the dialogues - and the gameplay was good but a bit too difficult for me (I spent a long time getting out of that first section :'D)

In trying to make a video showing me completing it, I failed some of the same jumps. It is definitely not the best platformer lol

This  game has great ideas, like the worms, I love the dialogs haha

The movement is too quick for me, and in the level design try to be nice with the player, not easier, but nicer with them to avoid frustration haha.

Also something that helps me a lot to the level design, was to avoid creating level just with squares rooms, with some irregular forms you will get more impressive levels

I like the graphics and the secondary theme is there everywhere. You told me this was your second game, you are doing very well!

This game looks cute, but it's brutal—in a good way. Definitely inspired by Getting Over It! I like the sprites and music, and the controls work well. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough to get very far. Maybe it would help if there was a progression where the first jumps require using the dash and jump, but not perfectly, to make it clear that it's possible.

I'm bad at platformers and this made me feel bad <3 The worm is creepy and I hate im (compliment) and the music is a bop

I really like the music! It's amazing that you were able to create this great game all on your own.

Developer

Thank you! I struggled so hard Sunday night trying to make music. I was just exhausted by that point and the music looping over and over again was making me hate it 😂 To add to it I kept dying over and over again on the last challenge when testing the final build and I just wanted to gamble and ship it lol
