How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
"Demonic monsters have taken up residence in homes all around the world. It's very inconvenient to kill these monsters so people have gotten into the habit of paying burglars to ransack their houses for their important items and finding shelter elsewhere. Get the goods and get out fast."

GB-style game made in Godot, playable in browser !
Resolution 160x144, pixel-art with 4 classic colors, simple inputs, chiptune & arcade-style gameplay !

Lixen here, the programmer : the game's not quite finished since it's my first time in many things... but I learnt a lot doing it !

Really nice premise! I would love to see a more fleshed out version of this.

The idea of the game is very good. I like the enemy and the mechanic of hiding in the closet.

Some suggestions:

-The camera sometimes moves off the screen, I think because it moves incrementally. It is better to guarantee a single increment or set fixed target positions.

-It would also be cool to use YSort for the player to get closer and in front of the objects.

-The inventory still does not cross off some collected items.

-If the game continues, I suggest that the enemy can move more through the rooms and faster, to force the use of hiding places, and there should be one or two per room, so that the enemy can randomly open one or not, leading to tension, like Alien Isolation.

Anyway, for the short time, you guys did a great job.

Alright!

great music. Didn't know what I was suppose to do most of the time but I manage to escape.

I think there's little chance to react to the "monster" the first time you enter the room on the right, I wish they were a little backed away so I could get scared and run away accordingly hehe

great work

I really like the concept! Great effort!

Great work getting something at least playable, it can be difficult to pull something like that off in such a short time. I'm just glad it's because it's not finished, and not because I'm just bad at the game that I seemed to have gotten stuck. Cool music, and cool idea. Keep up the good work!

Great effort! I feel like the range at which the monster kills you is quite large for the small room and if you approach from the top you just die instantly. There's also a bug with the topmost screen transition which can scroll upwards instead and the music does not loop : ) But it is an interesting premise and a good start!

Fun little game, and great job for your first jam ! The gameplay is simple and very effective !

But the only regret i have is that the audio doesn't relly fit to the gameplay, which seems (from what i've played) anxious and tight

Despite this detail, the games looks polished and not bugged, with cool visuals, great job !

Oy God, that creature in the living room...evokes the Francisco Goya painting Saturn Devouring His Son. Unfinished or not, this is a fun little concept. I do think that maybe the music sounds a little too hi-fi for GameBoy, or maybe I've just listened to too much of my own bleeps-and-bloops over the last week to know any better. Regardless, keep at it!
