As far as atmosphere? 10/10
I will admit that I was definitely wandering through the woods lost and I'm not sure why certain events were happening.
But I very much enjoy ALL of the set-dressing, atmosphere, and design work put into this game. Just some things being a bit clearer would be nice.
I'd love to see you or someone playthrough it to know how the story ends, I kept getting stuck on... phase 3?? Idk how to say things without spoiling.
Got a little lost, and my compass might've broke, but it was a fun experience! I would say what I found, but it might be spoiling.
Thanks for playing! I checked out your stream where you played the game, and I can confirm that the compass isn't broken, my game is just a little hard to parse. I've taken notes from your stream and will be working on a revised version to come out later in the month, if not November. I'm glad that you enjoyed what is already present though. If you're interested, I've added a link to a spoiler heavy play through to the game page. I'll be deleting it after the jam, but if that sounds intriguing, it's there to be viewed!
this is extremely confounding and i had no idea what i was doing. it felt like a game i wasn't supposed to be playing. this is the kind of thing i'm looking for in games as a whole - fantastic job!
Thanks for the incredible praise.
Fantastic atmosphere! I must say, I didn't know if I was progressing/understanding the mechanics until I got to the night section, but the game was interesting enough to keep trying, and I'm glad I did! The birds getting closer were a great touch too. Great work!
Thank you so very much. The general consensus seems to be that the UI needs a bit of work and that the game needs to be easier to read. Notes are being made, plans for the next version written. Thrilled that you enjoyed what is here now.
Great work and concept! I had a bit problem with understanding of UI at the start ( changing scene etc), but after some time it worked. Nice visuals, and also music is dark, good design!
Thank you so very much! The general consensus is that the UI needs work, so I'm making plans for revision. Thrilled that you enjoyed what's here.
Really like this one!
kinda reminds me of manic mansion a little
The highest kind of praise. Thank you!
Very interesting, evokes the feeling of old school ultima and zork adventures. I had fun playing it although where to click to move around wasn't immediately apparent. The colour swapping to differentiate time of day was effective, and there definitely was a sense of urgency at night.
I will say I preferred when the birds were indifferent.
Thrilled to see that someone sees some of the DNA behind this idea. Also, I laughed so hard that my wife thought something was wrong with me when I read the last line of your comment. Thanks for playing!
Good visuals, and great job doing that game alone ! But i stayed stuck in the first level during a long time : the UI looks good, but isn't clear ; it took a long time to find how to "switch pages" or to move to another screen or landscape... Please tell me if you don't understand what i mean !
But great job !
Thanks for the input as well as the compliments! I've updated the game page with a couple of extra details to make this clearer in the short term, and I'll work out a fix when I update the game after the jam. Additionally, I've tossed a couple of light tips into the game page for anyone else who plays. Definitely needed to know where I'm not meeting the player enough!
