Good job!!! I liked it a lot, as a fan of the original Space Invaders back in the Atari days. The waves become harder to beat quite quickly though. More power-ups to defeat all enemies at once  would have been nice haha, I could only get one before dying.

I actually thought you did a good job on it, the gameplay is fun, I especially liked when clicking the powerup that clears all the enemies from the screen, and also enjoyed that there were multiple different kinds of powerups. I liked the upgrades as well and thought you did a nice job on this game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, that was the last one I implemented, but it feels really good when you're nearly dead then get one of those to clear the screen.

I had fun playing this. Amazing job on the hand made assets. The art style is consistent. Great job.

Developer

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Handprepped assets are always cool to see! Nice job drawing the space ships. Though the gameplay is simple, there was depth to the design (e.g. multiple enemy types with different hit points). The feedback from landing hits was good, with sfx and particlefx. I was pleasantly surprised when i picked up the multi fire upgrade, it felt really strong. No encountered bugs as well.

I was slightly confused by not being able to shoot enemys that went past my "floor", not sure if that was intended.

Overall, solid entry!

Developer

Enemies weren't supposed to get past the floor :D what screen/window resolution are you running the game at? Thanks for playing and reviewing!

It was pretty fun and I liked it. You made the all assets on your own, that's a plus. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it. Yep, it was a bit frantic doing the music, sprites and coding, but sometimes it's good to have a break from one particular thing. It's also nice to have something you can say is 100% yours :)

I really liked the upgrade system! The progression feels really rewarding, at one point I thought I was gonna lose the run but I powered up and managed to turn the tide! Great work!

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I had several plays where I thought I was gone, then got an explode or speed power up and that saved me, keeps you on your toes

Nice game, liked the graphics and sound/audio. Maybe missed a bit more enemy diversity and/or additional mechanic(s). Speed boost power up feels super satisfying to use.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I made the music myself and the SFX using sfxr Godot plugin (there's https://sfxr.me/ and a Unity plugin too I think. It's great for game jams where you want quick lo-fi sound effects.

Good job finishing your game. It was fun to shoot down all the invaders. I got as many upgrades as possible, but eventually they overran me.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, they just get faster and stronger, doom is inevitable :D. It gets boring otherwise eventually. I'd like to get some more upgrades/mechanics in if I continue development.

Really enjoyed the gameplay :) Was quite overwhelmed for a second with the power ups but I figured it out how to collect them xD (Should have probably read the description before playing :D)

Another node stretching the windows makes the enemies glitch out ... but probably not an issue on your end lol

Developer

Thanks for playing! It was OK here, what do you mean by stretching the window? Like resizing it to a weird ratio? I made it so it scales 1,1.5 or 2x based on your viewport size, for high-resolution monitors.

I wanted to add a screenshot but Itch sadly didn't let me :( It was like 16:10 or something like that.

Developer

oh well, thanks for trying :)
