I've no idea what i've done and what the game is about except something link with nuclear. But i've like it. Good job, good game. And your code is very well wrote. That also deserve 5 stars.

You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category). Make sure to fill out your README with information about your game rather than just the folder structure. You can use all the information from your submission page: https://calaverite.itch.io/scram and add that in. Remember to fill out both of these when you get a chance.

Full browser window by default is great. The game idea and your take on the theme is interesting and creative. The first part of the game however is a lot to take in all at once. I'd start with a smaller "level" and have a tutorial style. Introduce new elements at each level to make it progressively harder. It's a lot to understand and the game board is so big right off the bat. The game would feel a little more managable.

My character also ran off the far right side of the screen... is that meant to happen? Looked funny regardless! I love the sound effects, add some music too in order to make the game more immersive. Is there also a scoring system or something you can implement too? (time, number of elements or similar would be good elements for scoring). Great job on your submission.

Hi,
just to thank you very much for all the tests and helpfull and kind comments you do on so many games.

My pleasure. Happy to help and hopefully it was all useful feedback and tips you can use for your next hackathon, game jam, or project.

"Fun game, cool idea! A bit hard at first. A tutorial would help. Had some bugs like walking off the screen. Still, enjoyed it!"

(If you get a chance, would love for you to check out my games too and leave a rating. Appreciate it, and good luck!)

I like the game, very unique concept with nice visuals. Tho, I must say the game lacks substance, I was just running out trying to avoid the neutrons. It would have been more fun as a puzzle game or something like that.

I made it! Very cool game idea for this theme and I also liked that you are running around inside of the reactor and control everything :).

Here is a bit of input on how you could improve the game:

  • I know the complexity is part of the game, but I wished there was an easier start into the game. Just getting a lot of information and then directly jump into the game was a bit a hard start. As soon as I played it once it was then clear. Maybe a gradual introduction of the different elements of the game would be beneficial. Kind of a tutorial or so.
  • I was able to walk off screen. I think it would be good to avoid that.
  • I was also able to walk through the control rods, even though it said in the introduction that it is not possible.

I still liked the game, especially the whole idea. Congratulations to your game jam entry.

I always loved watching these nuclear reactor simulations on youtube. Cool idea to turn them into a game! I was confused on how to complete the objective but I ended up winning by raising all of the rods

always raise all control rods :D

The game is pretty cool! Having to control so many gates is a bit of rush and hence the name 'scram' makes sense.

Great work

Interesting idea!

I was a bit missing some interactivity. I would have liked to interact with the game in some other way.
