You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category). I like that your README is a blog/diary of your progress. Well done.
The music is like laid back jazz, I feel like I need to pour a fancy cocktail and relax on the couch rather than sorting out finances ๐ . Found a couple of bugs (which you already called out). Would be great if the buttons stayed greyed out if you can't perform that actions. Great work on your game. Would be good if you can also use the numpad to enter currency instead of just the numbers at the top of the keyboard (not sure why numpad didn't work...)
I love that you can just spam the work button and then deposit at the end of the term.
Thank you for the feedback! I did try to make a sort of devlog in the project's README. For a while, Some gifs appeared in the README, but eventually the software that was used for recording gifs stopped working ๐ so the progress continued in plain text. There were tags created in the repo so that it is possible to go back to a previous version of the code to run it.
The game was a bit messy to implement as I had never used Phaser nor created a game solely in javascript before. I got some help from AI to get me through some hurdles, but it seems to have worked out (although there are still many bugs since I wrote the UI and account management completely from scratch ๐ซ ).
After your feedback, I added a License to my project. Does that make the game eligible for the open source category or did it need the license to be there before the time that the game was submitted?
Anyways, thanks for playing and the review ๐ ! I really enjoyed participating in this jam. I have a friend who submitted his own game (https://jeydevlab.itch.io/stacknroll) which is also fun to play.
Yeah it's probably not written anywhere for the game jam, however a README and License is a standard requirement for something that is open source (industry standard rather than "hackathon" or "game jam" requirement). I do need to honour those people that submitted on time and in full - hopefully it's all useful suggestions and feedback for the next jam. Nice work on adding in the license file now.
Seems like you had a lot of fun in this jam and kudos on trying out new tools and technologies. Hope you found it a useful experience. Good luck for the final announcements soon.
Thank you ๐
Oh well for the open source category; I'm forgetful when it comes to License files in my projects ๐
Have a great rest of the event!

Nice work on your game though.
I like it! I'd say it gets boring after a bit, specially since upgrades take tediously long to get. Good work!
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
I agree! I do sense that it is a pretty boring game compared to some other entries. Not much time was really put into the "fun" element, so that might explain it. It's more like a simulation than a game made for a jam, but it seems to hold up ๐ .
I think "fun" is the one thing that I struggle with finding when creating a game, so I'll have to find a way to experiment with that more for future jam participations.
It brings a smile because the minimalism of it is like Drug Lord 2 from the old days in the 90's and 2000's
I took a moment grasping the deposit timing of the investment fund but you already said it was slightly buggy so there's that.
It just needs maybe merging exactly with Drug Lord 2and being able later to shot people trying to bust you with weapons at the airport lol
Where Drug Lord 2 doesn't have a money laundering side yet haha
It also breaks under windows 11 so if someone wants to inherit that thing and make them combine they could see how it worked under DosBox i suppose. Or whatever the early-windows emu is.
Gave you an itch follow, consider doing the same if you like my things:

Thanks for the follow! Cool that the game reminded you of that! I didnt have really much inspiration other than wanting to create my own kind of money-simulation game, which it seems to represent well. I'm not very good with visuals, so the minimalism can be explained by that ๐
Interesting concept!
Thanks for playing and the nice feedback!
I found a little bug I guess(?) if I invest in the stocks I can indefinitely withdraw going well over what I originally invested even counting the interest. Other than that everything else seems to work fine! well done :D
Thanks for playing and the bug report haha! I hope you enjoyed!
