Hi I was part of the Feedback Quest and bruh, you were there XD you heard all my feedback but the VOD is up regardless.

Still to put it fairly, I loved the game. Very good work. As suggested, a fix in the UI, making it scale bigger, or something to make the experience more comfortable would help a ton. Gameplay feels smooth, solid shooting, solid feedback and progression. I love it overall. Please keep up the good work and I hope to try the full release soon!

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll work on adding more UI scaling, as well as room transition animations, after the next patch.

Also, the game is technically already released on itch, buuuuuut seeing how that went I'll keep you posted on the Steam release!

.... do you need me to comment? I feel like we've talked a lot in my own streams about what I like about your game and where I think improvements could be made. XD

Thanks for the feedback on the game! c:

I don't think I got very far in the game, but I did manage to get a second weapon that let me destroy the blue wall things. I reached a stage where the enemies kept responding, and the door forward was locked. I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do to unlock the door.

Overall, it was pretty fun, though the difficulty was high. I couldn't really dodge the enemies very well.

Developer

That last fight you had trouble with was an Ambush. Enemies lock the doors to trap you inside, and attack you in waves. Defeating all the enemies unlocks the doors, allowing you to continue with your quest.

I'm glad you hear you still had fun with the game! If you want a few tips in the future, I'd be happy to share some.

Your game is really polished, and judging by the version number of the demo, I can tell you've put a lot of work into it. I have trouble multitasking WASD and the mouse, I might be the kind of uber casual mentioned below 😅 It was way easier with a controller though, I'm glad you added that option.

I agree that there's not much more to say in terms of feedback at this stage of development, but this is awesome work!

Thank you for the comment!

Really fun game. It's hard to find feedback for this, but keep working on it.

I would say maybe create an even easier mode for the uber casuals who just want to see the game to competion.

Thank you! I'll see what I can do, as an even easier mode may require some major adjustents due to a lack of foresight on my part.

This is actually very good!

  • Got stuck in Campaign after discovering Ship Storage - game tells me to move to and adjacent room, but there's nothing I can interact with there. I have energy cannon, but don't have rockets yet - probably missed them somewhere (found two rocket racks, but not the actual launcher). At this point I have to go through every other room to see if I missed something. I cound use some hints in this situation
  • It seems like I'm only at the beginning, but the story feels nice so far. The dialogs are minimal and give just the right amount of info to stay interested.
  • "Demo" felt a bit better at onboarding that the campaign itself - unlocking modues and ramping up difficulty feels more natural there
  • Played on "standard" difficulty, and it feel on point. Not too easy or hard. I expected it to be a little easier, since I play similar games from time to time. "Fast" enemies give me the most trouble so far, but I like how each enemy makes you adopt different moving and dodging pattern.
  • Metroidvania aspect is fun (apart from the fact that I got lost a bit)
  • There's a little bit of a mismatch between movement and visuals - you see a flyghing vehicle, but it does not feel like you control one (unless you use "boost" - that feels more accurate). The gameplay is still fun, though.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

On the topic of getting stuck, you can always ask A.R.I.A. for help. She'll give you hints on how to proceed.

You can talk to her from the Pause menu, or by pressing F1 on the Keyboard or Select on your Gamepad/Controller. It's the same button for answering Transmissions and reviewing new equipment.

Alternatively, I can give you a hint myself if you wish. I'll also review that section to make sure that the game itself didn't break on accident.
