I loved the sound design! Especially the random sounds and phrases by John when walking really helped build the immersion. I also like the use of low-poly models for the less important details like the trees, but using more detailed models for important locations and items, while still keeping the low-poly aesthetic :D One thing I would like to see is my own location on the map, I know that's not really in line with the theme of map and compass navigation, but this might help players who got lost (like me :p). Overall though, an amazing entry!

Thanks a lot for the praise I'm delighted that you liked the game. The location of the player can be implemented but as you said it is a game where its main challenge is the navigation.
If you liked it, there will be an episode 2 soon. Or if you want something better play Firewatch or The Long Dark. This game was a small fusion of these two masterpieces that I love.
The writing and voice acting were great! It feels pretty polished. Great job!
I think some said it already but this feels like a snowy version of Firewatch, I really liked it. Pretty amazing for a jam game, keep it up!
Love the scenery and I was way too entertained by the zoom function! haha I got a bit lost in the beginning, but once daylight hit, I was fine! Fantastic voice acting too! Great job!
That was really cool. I liked how the story unfolded through the phone conversations. The voice over was a nice addition. I don't think I've seen VO in a jam game before. My only feedback is that it wasn't always obvious where to go. In Chapter 3, I went walking a long time and eventually just reloaded my checkpoint so I could get back on track. Other than that though, this was a cool experience.
I enjoy playing. I didn't understand the final. Is he a really going to murder that guy and how this case is related to his wife's death?
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT: (watch a playthrough or replay the game if you want to find out yourself)
He is the serial killer who takes revenge from the alcoholics because his wife was killed by one. He was up on the mountain trying to cover up his murders by saying that he killed the serial killer and have Ella as his witness.
This is amazing work especially the dubbing! Though I was trapped in the dark at first. The reason may be that I heard my step sound on the ground so I thought I was moving in the dark (I can't see anything at that time), but the fact is I was facing against a small mountain and walking in the same position. Anyway, I found the cabin finally haha.
I wasn't able to get far as it was extremely dark, but what from I've seen so far it is really good!
Didn't get to far but form what I played it was super cool. Kinda reminded me of FireWatch, also great voice acting.
Looks neat. It reminds me of the game "Firewatch" , specially the dialogue that take place between Ella and John , it really feels like a bond is being created. Overall its a pretty good result for such a short period of development time. However somethings could be improved like this one funny bug were you could walk off the watch tower and keep floating forever and the UI overall needs a little work around. Also it is pretty easy to get lost. I can see potential in this game and it could become a gem if you keep working on it and polishing it.
Thank you very much you are absolutely right about the Firewatch element. I tried to make something between that and The Long Dark, adding a survival element. A lot could be added/changed but overscoping is never a good thing. I would love more survival elements. Glad you liked it :D
PS I have absolutely no idea why the tower thing happens, I'm breaking my mind and the thing I ended up believing that causes it, is the animation not following the rigidbody gravity.
