How does you game relate to the theme of "Parasite"?
The most obvious way our project relates to the theme is that execs at the beginning of the story administer parasites into you. You must manage their population while searching for an exit.

In addition, the cult execs act as parasites themselves. By stripping away your freedom, they receive the colony’s labor and humanity while giving nothing in return. It could also be argued that by keeping the cult members weak, they develop a reliance, which makes them and yourself parasitic in nature to the cult execs.

The point and click style through the sewers was really interesting. The guy Peter Griffin falling was really a really funny touch. I assume you all used stock imagery for the sewers, but I would be interested to know if that is not true.

Towards the end the number of parasites that would spawn was kind of insane until I realized that I just had to sprint to the end. I'm curious if there were other endings I missed as well. This seems like the kind of game that might have them, but it was a really good experience overall.

I like the art and animations a lot. But, I wish that the places had labels so that you can tell where you are. Also I wish that it would label where your going too. Also for some reason after playing it once and losing replaying it through the title screen automatically made me lose again. But overall I think its good.

Awesome game! Love the mix of point and click and visual novel elements. The navigation around the sewers could have been clearer, it took some trial and error to figure out how it worked, but I think just some UI or backgrounds that guide the eye more would be sufficient.

A point and click adventure akin to those old Nancy Drew games. I wish you had the feature in them where your cursor changes to show what direction you are going since sometimes it was hard to tell where I could and couldn't go. Other than that though it was very well executed.

Just played and beat the web build version, THIS IS SO COOL!! I love the animations you have, and the dedicated sprite for the cultist dying at the end lol. I think I ran into web build specific issues like saving some progress when I die when I shouldn't (like saving the map and parasite grabbing machine).

I had a lot of fun trying to solve the puzzle, and I thought having the map is such a great touch too.

Making a point and click adventure game is really creative, and the visuals are spot on.

I really like the concept of taking parasites out of your body to unlock things to progress the game.

Thank you for your feedback! I wrote a lot of the dialogue and drew a large majority of the assets. I really wanted the game to portray a certain vibe and am glad you enjoyed the concepts :)

I couldn't figure out how to get a Mac build running without Godot yelling at me, but with permission I was able to export and attach here a web build to play in your browser! SewerSect Webversion by Awesometems I hope this is a way you can play our game :) I hope you have fun! For the future, I'll definitely figure out how to get the game onto more platforms.

The entire vibe of this game was incredibly unique, I really enjoyed it! It reminds me of old text based adventure games almost? I had a lot of fun crawling around and seeing what I can find.

The game does feel a bit disorienting at first. I ended up missing the cultist with the map towards the start on my first go (whoops), and had trouble navigating. But even still, it’s pretty fun to explore.

My only real critique is that it was a little unclear that I needed 20 parasites to defeat the leader. When playing, I wanted to explore as fast as possible and avoid the parasites growing. To win, I ended up sitting still and farm parasites to reach 20.

Regardless, I love the concept, and the artwork you drew is fantastic! Great job

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you made it to the end. and liked it! Definitely will focus on making things more clear for future projects. It's sometimes hard to account for things like that when you, as the developer, know everything while creating it haha.

The way you all put together the story, art, and animations was beautiful! I also found the parasite minigame/mechanic really interesting (although admittedly I was able to cheese it in my playthrough). My main confusion with the game was how clicking a hole/tunnel in the background didn't always lead somewhere, but that could easily be fixed by putting visual indicators over valid holes/tunnels that show up when you hover the mouse over them. You all should definitely consider expanding upon this concept or making a similar game in the future as there's a lot of potential here!

I'm really glad you liked the world we created! Visual indicators are a really good idea actually. We definitely want to go back, fix some bugs, and add some bells and whistles we decided to cut in the interest of time for a post-jam patch. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
