I can't beat this ToT I'm not sure what happens next and it keeps resetting ue. But the art is so cute and this is so cool as a solo dev and your first game! (Edit): I saw the hint in another comment and I finally beat it! such a fun concept and I did try and look up a summary of parasite to see if it would give me any hints haha.

It honestly doesn't really have that much to do with the movie's plot lmao. I swear I'll add more hints next time😭 But THANK YOU for dedicating this much to beating the game!! This truly means a lot to me.

I enjoy escape room-style games like this, especially with cute pixel art. I eventually realized that I couldn't click to leave the hatch if I was holding the arrow keys while using the ladder, and I got stuck on the spilling water part, but I think this is a cool concept and quite nice for your first game. Keep up the good work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!! Yeah you can actually spill water anywhere in the room, and spilling it specifically in grandma's path can move the game forward. I realized it's quite confusing for players:< I'll keep polishing the game!

I love the vibes and concept behind this game! I will say it was a little difficult for me to figure out what was happening and what I was supposed to do as the player, but I'm sure with more time to work on UI/player feedback would help

Developer

Hii I'm sorry you felt confused when playing the game. It definitely lacks a lot of stuff to make the gameplay smoother. I will keep on working on this project and try to make it better. Thanks for your feedback!!

I love the concept!! I had a ton of fun skulking around and learning what the two people do every day. The system of time passing is really cool, and I like the process of figuring out what I can do to leave the house without being spotted.

I think with some more polish this game would be even better. Some of the things you can do are a little unclear (like, I didn’t realize at first that I was picking up the pill bottle or the glass). Having some more player feedback would help a ton (like an indicator to show what items you have, or what you can do with them). Still, super fun concept. Especially if this is your first game, that’s awesome! Great job

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! It makes me so happy knowing other people had fun with my game. I will for sure add more instructions&player feedback next time. It is technically my first game though I have done a little pixel art for another project and used some of it here. Thank you for your comment!

A cool concept! I like the pixel art design, especially the animation when you get caught! I think some clearer direction on what to do would help, or some sort of player feedback to let me know if I'm on the right track. For example, I realized I could interact with the sink and cup, but wasn't sure how that impacted the people in the house. But I see good potential for future designs with this concept!

Developer

Yeah a lot of people have mentioned the game needed more player instruction. I guess I play exclusively puzzle games so many puzzles feel intuitive for me and not for others. Thank you so much for your feedback!

YESS I BEAT IT!!

If this was your first ever game, this is amazing for 48 hours! My favorite thing about the game is the overall atmosphere created with the uncanny music and pixel art.

Even though the game is short, I thought it's a pretty good adaptation of the Parasite film, and looking at the time mechanic so you can understand their routine is a great touch. I think other people have mentioned some possible improvements, like having better player feedback for being able to place water anywhere, and that you've successfully placed the poison in the drink. Another issue I found was the guy would sometimes duplicate. Overall I thought this game was really well done and well scoped!

Developer

Thanks!! I did put a lot of time in art and music and kinda ran out of time for polishing. Well, I learnt the lesson and will hopefully do better for the next jam. I spent like three hours trying to fix the duplicate guy lol but failed probably because I'm still not that familiar with godot. I'm so happy you were able to make it to the ending and notice the time mechanic!

A unique take on the theme, could use a bit of polish around the edges by making it clear that the character can place water anywhere. Over all neat time.

Developer

Yea the water placement is a bit confusing. Thank you for your feedback!!

Your unique interpretation of the theme is clever. The pixel art is really solid especially with the ambiance of the player and dark basement. The interactions in the house could use a little more explanation (i.e. "press s to spill" works away from the sink) and polish (i.e. getting stuck in the trapdoor and having to press Q), but I was still able to figure them out and finish the game.

Thank you so much for your feedback! This is the first game I've ever made so there are many bugs here and there that I ran out of time to fix. I will continue working on those now that the game jam is over. I'm so glad you were able to finish!
