This was cool! :O
It must have been a lot of work coding in all the minion controlling stuff, and the multiple resources, and building types. (O.O)
At first I was trying to do all the tasks just by myself, but figured that getting a few more peasants than requested would help out overall. I like that there's that level of decision-making done by the player, and it's not all the boss's orders.
Wish there were sound effects, they could've been so goofy. (^^)
I loved the ending where the boss got turned into a frog. Revenge! >:D
This was surprisingly fun!
I think you guys did a really good job, and I enjoyed the gameplay loop, though it did take me a few tries to beat - hah. All in all, I felt like it was a charming game with some real potential. It was impressive to see a functioning base/unit generation system working as well as it did, for sure! My only issue was that I kept hitting escape to back out of menus, which would pull me out of full-screen instead - classic skill issue. Once I got a hang on the controls though, it was a pretty smooth process getting to the end, and I really liked that the game had an end.
Great job!
Once I figured out it was hold to use I had a lot of fun! The management works and the peasants are fun to order around. I love the style of the 3d models, with some animations it feels like they could really come alive. I did have a hard time beating the objectives in the time limit, I think because my guys got stuck on each other for a minute and I lost a lot of resource gathering. I will try to play again, it was a lot of fun once I figured it out
Figuring out the janky controls and the lack of proper instructions is half the fun!
Music was good, art style was enjoyable.
Had some bugs. Wish there were some sound effects for the different collecting. Maybe a tutorial path?
the mouse sensitivity was so high, i had to dig out my mouse and even still. but it was actually fun trying to get it all done in time, as i could tell it was possible if i knew what i was doing from the start (some sort of popup with the costs before the timer starts could help). the wizard character design is very cute. i def wanna see this continued on.
I like the concept and art. And after I figured it out, the gameplay wasn’t too shabby either.
I think the biggest issue with the game as it is, is that it’s too difficult at the beginning. I didn’t get the objective completed before being turned into a toad. Which was funny!
We had some difficulty issues too with our game it seems. But maybe you would have other feedback for us! Please play our game and let us know what you think. Thanks!
I admittedly didn't have high hopes after failing my first couple of attempts to put items in town hall. I then read a comment about someone HOLDING left click (that should be updated in the game page description), and I was able to play.
Very addicting gameplay! I learned more and got better with each attempt. The "Boss" meter was a surprisingly fun mechanic, as I plotted to squeeze more and more resources out of the limited time before advancing to the next stage. The townsfolk AI is also self sufficient, although if you destroy the exact target they were going towards, they freeze until you give them orders again.
My main complaint is the axe chopping. It's slow and inconsistent. Sometimes you can get combos, but usually you just put the axe away, and sometimes the character just stood there with the axe out for several seconds while I clicked furiously! Also, putting resources into the town hall sometimes didn't register, which was offputting.
Very cool 3D game, and nice background track!
I got stuck too, couldn't create any peasants
Did you drop off the resources at the town hall first? I know that wasn't obvious but I'll update the instructions.
Hey, just an update - I got it working, it was a bit fiddly but if I held left click and then pressed spacebar I was able to drop off resources at the town hall. Just normal left click wasn't working for me. No more bugs after that though and really liked the vibe of what you guys made
That happened to me, too!
Not sure if it was a bug on my end, but I couldn’t progress. Despite having enough Food/Wood, it wouldn’t let me create any units.
You're not alone, I'm assuming you didn't drop off the resources at the town hall, which it doesn't tell you to do. My bad
