Despite some initial doubts I found myself having fun zooming around and hitting enemies, I think the sound design helped a lot to make the game feel responsive where the graphics were lacking- that sound that plays when you kill an enemy is very satisfying and a thrill to hear it play as you tear through a huge crowd! I will say I found that it feels pretty rough to slam into the walls and corners of the obstacles, and the small arena size means you're going in the same circles pretty often. I think it could benefit the gameplay a lot to have an environment that's more suited to this movement, maybe a little larger with some more varied obstacle shapes and placement to plan your paths around? It would also be nice to see how much damage the enemies are taking, some kind of visual change as they get lower on health? Anyways, I can already see the potential for a great arcade game in this!
At the start I couldnt figure out how to kill the enemies, then I remembered the prompt of the game jam! Zooming around the enemies trying to hit as many of them at the same time and also not getting hit by their attacks was super fun! Maybe an highscore setting would be better than one that sums up the previous points? So you could feel better incentivated to try again! Sound design was also satisfying ̤̮
Ok, I think it's just me, but I tried like 10 times and couldn't understand what is going on. Just kept dying, when I attack, when they attack :) Probably a user issue lol
My ears)
pretty cool idea, wish it had better visuals and collision for points were bigger, other than that, good job.
Hello, thank you so much for the criticism. Art is not my strong suit but I'm glad that you found my game to be fun. They'll be more games from me in the future, and I hope this experience will make it better
I love how chaotic it's the game :D for a first game it's a very good start!
Hello, thank you so much for taking the time to try out my first published project. There is the next one I'm working right now
Honestly, this game is really chaotic and I really like it for that. The gimmick of moving faster as you move more makes things feel really intense and fun. I also like the attack the player has: it's unique but at the same time can seem quite powerful knowing they can hurt so many enemies with just one barrier.
I think what would make this game even better is to give more indication that you are damaging enemies and by how much. Maybe you can make the enemies take knockback damage and have a pop-up above them showing how much damage you dealt. It helps make your attacks feel more impactful and makes players feel as if they are in fact dealing damage.
Overall, this was a chaotic but fun game to play. Now if only I had the skill to reach 90 seconds haha...
Hello. Thank you so much for taking the time off to try my game. I plan to make better things for my next project, and this jam has been a great way to gauge my skills and experience
For a first published project, this is pretty good! ui looked very clean as well imo
Hello, thanks for trying out my game. The UI is honestly minimal and I didn't take a lot of time to do it. I'm a bit surprised it looked good enough
I think that's what I like about it, it just looks very clean to me
