Amazing job!
Couldn't have done it without you too. Thank you for your help with everything.
Nice game! I like the character-switching mechanic, and the fact that your allies will follow you – that must be fiddly to make. Also the knight's fun animation is epic. I'm feeling inspired to learn how to create dialogue systems now...
Thankfully I made good architecture decisions early on and it actually wasn't too hard; it wasn't even originally planned for the game.
I'm not home right now, so I can't remember if your game is made with Unity, but if yes, it's actually relatively easy for a very basic one. I'll have to find a Twitter thread that's a little more advanced and it looks awesome. I'll reply to you in a bit once I find it, and I can show you some of my code for mine. Combined, you could make a pretty easy, snazzy dialogue system.
Thank you for your feedback.
Ah no I'm working in Godot, and still pretty new to it. I like it though. I'm getting quite comfortable botching things together, so now I want to start learning how to do things properly, and develop efficient systems etc. The game jams really keep me motivated to learn more
Ah, gotcha. That's good that it's helping you want to learn; that crunch can definitely bring out some great ideas or workflow. Although in a different engine, there are some general points here that may help you. I'm sure some of them can be translated over to Godot in some shape or form.

nice one! you've got a unique sense of humour, it's cool when someone breaks the 4th wall like that. whereas for my feedback:
-there is a lot of bugs (we can sometimes clip through the
saladmiasma, the cursor gets huge with the priestess, ennemies can clip through some thin walls)-the fighting system could be improved, also the red monsters are unbalanced
-the controls are kinda counter intuitive (i.e space to place gems, it took me a bit to figure it out)
overall, i still enjoyed it (shotout to player animations/music, they're really good) and i'm really curious what you'd be able to do with a longer story.
Very detailed feedback, thank you.
Yeah, the fighting system was gonna be a lot more complex and interesting, but due to some unforeseen issues outside of development, we weren't able to flesh it out nearly as much as I would have liked to. But such is the life of a game jam.
Glad you enjoyed the dialogue. To be honest, I'm not much of a story/writing person, which is why the dialogue just turns into a shit-post at times. I just needed some basic sense of progression.
As for bugs, yeah, unfortunately some of those came about from some last minute changes that I just didn't get around to adjusting in time.
This was so fun, cant give it a 5 because it was a little unintuitive on what i needed to do and also was a bit buggy but its an easy 4 and you get a follow cause this is so good i wanna see what you do next :D
Fair enough. I assume the buggy part refers to the party system, which, if so, is understandable. I started working on that the last two days, so it's definitely not as polished as it could have been. Thank you for your feedback though! Glad you enjoyed it.
Pretty fun! Like a tiny top down metroidvenia, Also i liked the Meta dialouge, Overall pretty cool.
"And then everyone clapped"
Love it!
Benevolent Developer!
Thank you, thank you, hold your applause.
Pretty neat. Nice A/V. Encountered a bug where the knight got locked out of a room the other two were trapped in with enemies, so couldn't progress.
Ah crap, thought I had managed to avoid that issue, sorry about that. Glad you enjoyed it otherwise, thank you for the feedback!
