Interesting concept! Was a little hard at first. Nevertheless, I liked it :)
This is an interesting puzzle game. It took a while to work out, but once I did I managed to finish all the levels; the last one was a good twist. It definitely needs some more visual aids to make it easier to play; e.g., an indication of the 1-tile radius around each player, and an indication that the other player can now walk on walls. But it's a nice concept, and I liked the pixel art. Good work!
Thanks for playing the game! I agree that I wasn’t the best at making an easy-to-play game this jame, but I’m glad you liked it nonetheless!
nice game confusing but nice.
Hello there! Thanks for playing the game! I did have some difficulty on time towards the end of the jam, and there is quite a bit of missing feedback to the player about the ability. I hope you enjoyed the game anyway!
Has a learning curve but nothing crazy. Great submission.
Thanks for playing the game! I'm glad you liked it, and yes, I agree about the learning curve. If I had more time I would have added a better tutorial, but that's just how game jams go.
Good idea on the subject.Well done!
Thank you! :)
Found the controls a little confusing at first, maybe swap characters when you can pass through walls would make it easier, but it is a good game nonetheless
Thanks! I was quite limited on the user experience front this jam (and probably the others too) and because I was spending so much time testing it myself, I think I probably just got used to the controls. Sorry for any inconvenience it caused.
Cool Concept, was a little unclear how to play at first. Love to see some sort of indicator that you are now able to pass thru walls or have the shift button switch the character when it activates to let me know I can move with wall pass. On the second to last level, wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong but they no longer passed thru each other and the blocks to the right of exit couldn't be ghosted onto. was able to get past it in the end so it may be intended. but changing the color might help. Keep up the good work.
Are you referring to the blue tiles? I just used those as a boundary as due to outside of them being undefined, I needed a way to keep the player within those walls. If you're not referring to them, it might just be a confusion in that whilst you are ghosting through a wall you can't make the other one ghost. I agree, however that there should have been more feedback to the player when you can or cannot ghost throught the walls.
I had a lot of fun with this game, I managed to get to the level with the face! The mechanic was tricky to pick up at first but fun once I figured out how to do it. I would suggest a tutorial level (maybey even a tutorial video) for the game as it made no sence at first and I had to read the description countless times before picking the mechanic up. Otherwise I enjoyed the art and animations! The music was cool too. Good work!
Thank you for playing the game! The mechanic was, indeed, a bit confusing as the way I originally made it left no room for level designs, so I made it so there were far to many ifs and elses in the code as to whether or not you could use the ability. And I agree that a better tutorial would have been good, but I was in a bit of time trouble when I was 2 hours before the deadline with no music, only 2 levels and no itch page.
This is a fun idea, I could not get past level 2 though - maybe I just misunderstood! Great game though :)
The characters can use the SHIFT key to help the other onto a wall, if they are in a 1 tile radius and they themselves are not on a wall.
Quite nice vibe your going for here, like the simplicity of the artwork and the music of the game, kinda of an oldy vibe. I think some harder puzzles would be nicer and maybe some different abilities for the different characters. Overall pretty solid entry in the jam.
Thanks for the feedback! If this wasn't a game jam I'd probably have made 5-10 characters with different abilities to choose 2 of at the start, and thus far more room for difficult puzzles. However, I was in a bit of a tight spot with time, so was unable to. I'm glad you enjoyed the game though!
This game reminds me of a Gameboy-like puzzle-script game with a tad of modifications for 8x8 graphics.
The mechanic is a bit hard to control with a two step process before you can move the softer walls.
Most of the levels boil down to "move through diagonal walls." and probably could've used some asymmetrical quirks between both characters either in the levels or the objects.
overall a neat concept.
I agree completely with this comment. I was thinking during the jam that it would be nice if the characters both had different abilities, for example one can make the other float, the other can make the first jump over deadly tiles, or move walls etc, but due to the limited time frame I was unable to implement this into the game. I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :)
Nice game! The concept is original, and the puzzles were interesting! It is a really clever idea, I don't remember seeing anything like that in a game before. I feel like there is great potential, good job =)!
I know it is a lot in such a short time, but I would have added a bit of user feedback when a character uses (or cannot use) the ability. For example, I would have liked a color change when a character can pass through a wall.
But otherwise, it is a solid entry, congratulations =).
Thanks for the comment. I did actually have another couple of sprites for when they can float over walls, but due to some technical issues I lost a few hours of work the day before the jam ended. Then it got to 2 hours before the deadline and I had no music or sounds or anything, so I didn't have time for that. I'll keep your comment in mind if I every turn it into a full game. :)
It took me some time to figure out how the mechanics to get through the walls worked but otherwise the game is pretty good !
Thanks for playing the game! :) I probably could have used better animations for getting over the walls to more clearly show how it worked, and maybe a tutorial or something like that. The original intent for the game is they can make the other character float if they are next to them, but can't do it if they are on top of the wall as they cannot reach.
