Simple, I loved the sprites but you can do better. Next time add audios and effects.
Great game, I love it!
I just rated your game, maybe you can do the same on mine ^_^
Simple, but neat! Absolutely in love with the skeletons' power stance and the ghost's facial expression. Keep up the good work!
The game is nice. Animations for the player would be better, and the health doesn't update after 4 but over all good game. Rated it! If possible do rate and play my game :)
Good effort and I like your attitude! Gamejams are definitely a good opportunity to learn, have fun and challenges you to deliver something in a limited time frame. The fact that you made a game and published it for all to see is already a win. You beat a lot of people who didn't even submit anything!
Keep at it! Cheers!
High score 25!
Thanks for playing!
Definitely feels good to ship something complete! Although the mana recharge didn't allow me to keep up with the enemies spawn rate, I think you did great for having a weeks worth of pressure!
Thank you very much for playing and for the kind words! I am really enjoying gamedev and I hope over the summer I'll have more time to pursue it.
For somebody who is new to game dev, this is a solid entry, so congratulations =) ! You'll become better and better with every jam, don't worry about that ^^.
If you don't mind, here are a couple of small things that adds a lot of quality to your games for a minimal time invested, for the next jams ^^ :
- Improve your gameloop. Here, the mana doesn't refill enough, even if the ghost doesn't touch the player, and at some point, the level is filled with skeletons before you have enough mana to shoot. In general, ensure that the player can progress in your gameloop ^^.
- Sounds =p ! Sounds are an easy, but huge improvement to your game ^^. Look for "Audiosource" in Unity : just add one in your scene and bawm, sound. Here, having a little musical theme and a sound everytime you shoot.
- Controls : I use a AZERTY layout, so I have to switch my layout to play. Also, the arrow keys doesn't work, even if you say so in the menu ^^. Maybe check Unity's InputSystem to make your game compatible with all the layouts, and being able to add new bidings easily ^^.
These are just some little advices about what to focus on for the next jams, but it's still a good attempt for a beginner. Congratulations, you can be proud =) !
Thank you for playing and for the great advice. I will definitely learn how to make and implement sounds for future projects. Also, I mentioned this already in the comments for your game, but I'll say it again. The Mirror of Truth was an awesome submission, and I had a great time with it!
Thank you, that's really sweet, we are glad you enjoyed it =D ! And we look forward to your next games =)
Nice concept to be candid, but you can add more stuff in the game to make it more interesting. e.g sound fx,
Splendid anyways, it's all about the hardwork!
Thank you for playing and I'll make sure my next project has sounds!
Not a bad concept of a game, would've probably enjoyed it more if mana actually recharged fast enough to kill everything that spawned. The ghost didn't really matter.
At first I thought the mana being a bit slower was a good idea but quickly realized I should have fixed it. Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
It's a cool concept but I would have loved to hear some sound in that. Also, I fell like the mana recharged way too slow for me to do anything most of the time.
(can you rate mine please)
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback! Next project I will definitely set aside more time for playtesting.
