How does you game fit the theme?
The game's main premise is the characters world being a lie and him learning that he is a game character.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code, for assets I made the music, but the sound effects were grabbed off online. I also in this build had someone do the Spanish translation for me.

interesting idea, liked the concept of seeds, the art and music could use quite a bit of work though, but still pretty good

Developer

Do you have any suggestions for the art and music? Any ideas on how I could make it better? I have been doing jams for awhile and I still haven't quite figured out how to make art and sound in general people will enjoy

Submitted

An interesting take via seeding, would love to see some more hints in seeds about where to explore next.

Developer

Ok I will try to get myself to add those in(I am saying this with my record of wanting to update, but never feeling like working on my jam games after the jam)

Pretty neat idea. I almost thought it was an unfinished game when it kept putting me on the home screen lol.

My biggest fear with a game like this was that people would give up after a code or two and stop playing never actually beating the game. So far, people have actually complete it.

Really cool idea, found the mother, played three seeds.

It was hard to play for long because of the graphics and the sound, I actually feel a bit sick after playing, that's the effect of looking at that moving pattern for too long (1-2 minutes), and that short music loop didn't help either...

Developer

Oh, sorry about that. I am fine with it, but I can see why everyone wouldn't be.

Yay reunited at last! This game is super cool. I had fun.

Developer

Thank you, I played your game as well please check out my review on it. I don't have much to reply to here, so that is all.

For the purpose of leaving actionable feedback I wanna say a few things. The number pad at the start being linked to a seed and having an infinite loop unless an ending seed is put in, is actually very cool. However this needs be communicated to the player better because it wasn't till I read your comments that I realised this is what was going on.  Making the keys more challenging to find and some other simple puzzle mechanics could also help beef up the actual gameplay.

Oh and maybe have hints to ending seeds in the non ending loops to aid that feeling of progress.

I didn't notice any sound either (unless I forgot to turn it up) but this could enhance the mood aswell.
I hope you continue making games, and continue with your story telling. I was actually kinda satisfied when I found the ending with my mother and that ending did fit the theme with the character becoming self aware that hey are in a video game and their world isn't real.

Developer

Thank you! I will try to convey the purpose of number keys a bit better if I can, and possibly add like a note thing that gives a list of different ids mapping to different events. I definitely could add some more mechanics to make the game more interesting to play and that was a fear I had. Regarding sound, there are sound effects you likely just have it turned too far down.

No worries, If that's the case i'll quickly revist and adjust my Sound rating accordingly.

Got some interesting ideas here, but I had difficulty figuring out what to do--I went outside and went into the second room, but then from the second room I could only see the one exit, and it took me back to the main menu.

So, everytime you put in a number the game uses some functions to determine what the game with be like. In some ids you will find a person with long hair, if you touch this person, the game finally concludes. The number works almost like a minecraft seed, where you know the same thing will happen everytime you use it, but you have no idea what it is before.

Had another go at this; thanks for explaining to me how it works. But I didn't find that the play experience worked very well--you're doing the same very small loop over and over: Walk up the stairs, walk over to the other room, either your mom is there or she's not, start over. And there are some different props and things, but you're not making progress--you're just trying to guess a random number.

Developer

Very fair. I would worried about the game being boring when I made it. It needs something more to it, but I also didn’t end up getting much time to work on it, so I am just glad I got the main concept in there.

Submitted

i liked the concept of the game but the art wasn't soo good, i enjoyed the ending, not a very good game but i liked it

Developer(+1)

Dang guess I still need to keep working on art lol. I didn’t think it was much of a game, this is why it is called a “game?” Instead of “game”. The gameplay is strange, but it was easy and fun to program, so, I think it was worth making. Even if the audience doesn’t like it very much.

Developer

The thing with a game like this is, I can’t be completely sure what you experienced, so, I am not sure if you just got a part you don’t like or played through everything it had.

Submitted

I really liked the concept and it was definitely on theme. I was a little bit unclear on the objective. I couldn't tell if there was a way to unlock the locks or if I just was supposed to walk into them.

Developer

Ah, you walk into them. Did you get an end card, or did you just simply run through it?
