In what way does your game fit the theme?
Both gameplay wise and story wise.
The story revolves around a monkey demon known as Kapasura, who with the help of Ahi, the god of chaos escapes a volcanic prison designed like a maze.
The gameplay is very chaotic with fireballs and bullets flying everywhere.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Except the music everything has been done by me

Great and very addicting game! I really like it. Although I think it was worthwhile to make chaos also in the graphic component, for example, the diversity of the landscape, adding particles and shaking the screen

Thankyou for playing the game :D. I appreciate your advice, will definitely improve the next time :)

Great work ! This is really one of the most special games in this game jam, I really liked the snake mechanic and the story. The music is great but the graphics and the animations need some improvements and I got lost so some arrows or map or something to show the player where to go in that big prison would good.

Thanks for playing the game. I am glad you liked it, I appreciate your advice. Next time I will definitely improve my graphics and animation :D Also about the arrows and markers, it did not cross my mind to have them. But I understand they are absolutely necessary will definitely make them the next time :)

Alright, I've just played yours. Nice concept i gotta say. But as i said I'll give critics, here are those:

  • There was only 1 audio the bg music, you must have more than one music and impactful musics, like when destroying enemy etc..
  • I liked the innovation, how you used snake as a rope.
  • player movement felt slow.
  • I didnt fin the exit at first but finally I got it :D

overall good webgl game. Keep it up..

Developer

Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. Also thanks for completing the game, I know the level was not at all polished but still took a whole day to make :D

Fun game. Loved to see monkeys flying using their tails. Wall climbing felt a bit difficult bit I managed to do in 2-3 tries. Good job.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I also thought the monkeys flying with their tails was really funny, Thanks for playing :D

I had a lot of fun with the grappling mechanic, that is very well implemented. the wall climbing felt a little slow but was mostly fine. I got to the exit but couldn't go through it. Do I have to kill all enemies before exiting?

I suggest adding a way jump off a wall you are climbing. that will be nice to combine with the grapple swinging mechanic.

The art gives a nice retro vibe and the music fits the theme.

Developer

Thankyou for playing the game, there is actually a fake exit marked as "exit" that is actually just a troll and the actual exit is a bit far XD. I also wanted to add the wall jump, but since the grapple is already implemented I decided not to. But I agree that wall jump would have been a nice addition and would tie nicely with the other mechanics :D

Nice game, I definitely had fun. It was great to use the hook as a weapon as well. Hook swing were good, I really felt that I was in control and that the gravity was right, but the jump was a bit off to me, it felt a little floaty, didn't reflect the impact of a heavy character that it is (hook could improve a bit on this as well but it was mostly fine). Sound design could be improved a lot ,  I could only notice a soundtrack, but having sounds for the interactions would make the experience a lot better (if you want a tip to avoid making your sound effects tedious is having multiple similar effects for the same interaction and playing them randomly). The UI is fine, but I felt like it was too small and to much on the corners.

Developer

I agree with all of the points, and I really appreciate it. Thanks for playing the game :D also I really wanted to variable jump which would the solve the floatiness issue but there were some issues I could not overcome. Thanks for your advice :)

Great game. Instead of fireballs, I died falling in lava. Having fun while playing this. Great work!

Thankyou so much for playing :D
