20th rate!
This reminds me a lot of .io games, nice concept! Also the navigation system was a nice touch. I wish that the character speed was a bit faster, but overall nice game :)
A game where having a brain is a bad thing!
Fun:
This game has the ability to become fun. In the current state, the map being so large kind of caused the gameplay loop feel a little slow and repetitive. I do really like the concept (honestly this idea was something our team considered lol)
Innovation/theme:
The idea of growing a zombie hoard really does match the theme, but I feel like you could have really made it stronger. Instead of just single humans with numbers on their head, maybe have packs of humans that only a certain size hoard can take on. It would have made you feel a little more like you were really stronger instead of just playing a numbers game. Overall, the idea was very good!
Graphics:
The graphics were fairly cohesive and decent for what the game was. The art style just wasn't my cup of tea. It felt a little unclean. I think maybe having an artist help out with game could have improved the feel of your game. Humans are very visual and if the scene just feels a little off, then it effects everything else. An example is the mushrooms trees, and buildings. The character was the same size as the tree, and the mushrooms were the same size as well. This gives the view a weird perspective. The artwork itself was decent, again it just wasn't something I prefer.
Audio:
The one music track you had in the game was honestly pretty bumping. I really liked it. It would have been nice for a longer piece, or different tracks. Especially with how slow the game play was. It could have helped break up any mundane notions.
Game Design:
I really liked the concept, the gameplay you did have was solid, the visuals were a little off putting and you selected some good music. You laid out the ground work for a game that really could be polished into something. The biggest problem I had was the fun factor. Running around so slowly and taking so much time to really see any progress was droning on me. Honestly this type of gameplay needs to be faster pace. The map could have been shrunken down in size, maybe instead of numbers on the heads of humans, you had actual crowds. And have more humans on the map in general. That way the player can quickly grow a hoard. And there would be a risk/reward because you would never truly know the size of the human crowd, so do you risk take a crowd on that is similar in size of your hoard or wait until your hoard is obviously larger. There was also no real danger for the player. Having police or army enemies trying to kill off your hoard would have helped add urgency to your game. I really think this could be turned into something (mainly because I have seen other games with a similar concept be successful).
I streamed the game here:
Ah the Wilhelm scream! Nice game, I suspect given more time you'd have been able to implement a lot more to it. I enjoyed it and played until the end as it's compelling. I wanted to know what happens when you get all the humans. Definitely continue development on this, could make a great mobile game like hole.io etc!
An option to upgrade your zombies and add powers may work and a police force who hunts the player which gets harder the bigger the zombie horde. Especially, as there's a police station in the game. Many things you can do to this going forward!
Nice game! Liked the indicator in the bottom right to show where humans are, but would be even better if it showed the direction to the closest human you can zombify. The art was pleasing as well, and the music was nice.
Great Game! Really neat graphics and audio! Also really fun to brainlessly run around as a zombie.
Noice, fits theme and is fun, not very chalenging but relaxing :D
I like that jazzy jam, tututututtuuuu, fits nicely with screamings of zombified humans. Here is my rating!
How do you zombifie humans? I move towards them but it doest do anything
