In what way does your game fit the theme?
This game fits the theme of the jam because in the team that you take control of, you are required to do platforming to usually press buttons around each level. Some team members have certain abilities that others don't, which makes them required to press certain buttons to progress to beat a level. So, the game fits the theme "Stronger Together" because you must control each team member and have them work together to escape the dungeon-like environment they find themselves in. Therefore, the team is a lot stronger when they use their abilities in conjunction with one another, compared to if a level was attempted using only a single character.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote the code myself, but when I needed some assistance I consulted sources on the internet such as YouTube. I sprited all my assets and made my sound effects in sfxr. The one thing I didn't make was my music, as I used the song "Jerry Five," produced by Kevin MacLeod.

I like the concept of controlling several team members who all play differently. I think I ended up cheesing some of the early levels by just jumping from the top of the jumper, but the rest of the levels were fun.

Similar idea to what I done, easy to understand and I like it, good work!

  • The music is really good although I’m aware you didn’t make it

  • The music restarts when the scene changes which looks weird

  • The title screen title font looks a bit blurry

  • The mix of high-res and low-res art feels weird. Especially with the mixels

  • You can get stuck in walls if you hug them which looks weird: https://gyazo.com/92008ff2fe46a3b0c2c7da8204774f79

  • I don’t know how to describe this but this button is all kinds of weird: https://gyazo.com/a85eacd44a46153cb8cdd34a553bf56f

  • Really good tutorial

  • Instead of explicitly displaying the “Currently Active” character, I think a visual indicator above the character would be better. It helps to identify characters that you might not know/forget the name of as well

  • Sometimes you can’t jump while standing on top of another character: https://gyazo.com/067180604f7577329a0614e70c8f71f2

  • Sometimes it takes a while to respawn

  • I was really confused by dasher’s controls at first but that’s mostly my fault. I misunderstood that dashing required the arrows keys instead of A/D

  • Movement could feel a bit better if you implemented acceleration and coyote time

  • Having to cycle through characters is a bit annoying. I think a hotkey for each of them should be offered as an alternative

  • The level which first had dasher was really rage inducing lol. I kept on using the wrong character by mistake and accidentally killing myself

  • I feel like the spikes’ hitboxes are a tad too big on the sides

  • A restart button would be nice

  • I don’t like having to jump off of the jumper guy as I feel like it’s harder to pull off and diminishes the puzzle aspect a bit

  • Overall, pretty good! The puzzles themselves were a bit too easy but I had fun

I appreciate all of the feedback. I express a lot of similar complaints but wasn't able to fix them mostly due to time. As for the button thing in particular, I had no idea that happens lol. Thank you for all of the constructive criticism and feedback though, I appreciate it a ton!

Great idea! My only complain is the side walls having colliders that i could collide into and the players can will vibrate when i collide with something.

Developer

Yeah. That was something I didn't have time to fix unfortunately. If you time it right you can jump infinitely with every character too, so it's something that I should definitely fix I if I return to the project.

oh ya is it intended that i cant jump when i am on top of the leader?

Developer (1 edit)

That is intended. The only character I intended for you to be able to jump off of was the jumper, as a big aspect of them as a character is providing vertical height for the other characters. I could've been more specific about that with the information I provided on stages with new mechanics, I apologize for that. I probably should've made it to where you could jump off both the leader and dasher characters anyways though, because it's probably abnormal having that discrepancy.

Good game. nice puzzles.

The game is quite fun, the art is simple but good, and it's simple to understand what you have to do

I'd only add that if you need to hit the switch to enter the door that the door looks open or something, but other than that I really liked it!

If you could check mine out I'd appreciate it
