I liked the environment. The sound and the art style came together nicely to give it a nice ethereal feel. I think it could have done with a bit of an explanation on how the fishing works because I still don't quite get it. When I did manage to reel in a fish I liked how you had to determine the details of the fish. I think that gave a nice twist to the game.
Also, this is something small but I also really like the menu buttons. I can never seem to get mine right and yours looked really good. Is that a plugin or did you use Godots built in tools to make them?
Overall I enjoyed this experience. Nice work!

Thanks for the feedback! I added acceleration to the movement because I never done it before and I was looking for a new challenge, but I must admit that it does make it a bit floaty (probably not the best idea for a platformer game). And I feel you on the difficulty. I think we were a bit too used to the controls while we were making the levels so we didn't know what might be too hard for newer players.
Thanks for playing!

I especially like the art style on this game. It gives me an old DOS game vibe. I wish there was more to do though. After you upgrade the plants there isn't anything left to do except to sit there. Maybe have enemies come down from the sky that you use you mouse to shoot at or something?
Overall good work.
This was really good! reminds me of Iron Lung. I liked all of the weird structures and artifacts in the water, and how the radio man had comments for a lot of them.
The mermaids looked really creepy. I like the way they whisper when you get close. Maybe make them disappear from a further distance. That way it's a bit harder and leaves more to the imagination.
Overall great game!
Simple concept and very well executed. I had a lot of fun playing! I like how the sounds and background music go together as you kill things. The gameplay is easy to learn and keeps you on you toes as you play.
Also, very good lighting effects and presentation! It would have been easy to just stick the score in the corner and call it a day, but it looks so much better behind the action! And the little screen shake as you kill enemies feels *Chef's Kiss*
Also the particle effects that the enemies emit when they spawn/die look very nice. I don't know how particles work in unity, but I've played around with them a bit in Godot and I know they are hard to get right.
Overall, very nice work!
I really enjoyed this one. My only gripe about it was rotating the ship, because I didn't know where the mouse was. So maybe put like a little dot or something to show where it is, but that was a very minor annoyance.
Overall though, I think you nailed the atmosphere of space, and the story telling was very well done. The parallax scrolling of the stars in the background was a nice touch, and having everything be dark until you got close, brought an almost unnerving element to the game. Without giving to much away I also enjoyed the ending cinematic and thought that it was beautiful.
Definitely one of the top games of the jam. Great Job!
