How does the game fit the theme?
An endless runner where you play as a fly inside a nose, managing your limited energy—fly higher to grab pellets but risk running out before dodging obstacles, or drop lower to recover but risk getting snagged in some nose hairs.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some code was reused from a previous project. Other than that all assets (except sound) were created by me during this jam.

Loved the visuals! Nice art and animation for the fly, and the UI side of things is very clean and consistent.
Despite menu not working (cannot access credits at all), it's a solid game. I like how it greets you with a banger theme. Visually pleasing and polished. If anything, I missed having a jump sound. I also attempted to get to the rockets shown in screenshot but only got to 1300s.

Enjoyable entry in the Flappy Bird/Endless Runner theme. Quirky concept too, I thought it was pretty humorous. I can see you had a lot planned that did not make it to the jam version, but it seems like you have a good base. I got a score of 1142, and since the leaderboard is not functional I have no clue if that's a good score. I think people could get much higher since the stamina recharges very fast when walking on the ground and the difficulty seemed fairly low.
Difficulty definitely needs tweaking. Feel free to try again after the voting period ends when it's adjusted and leaderboard is functional. Thank you though! :D
A nice endless runner, I liked the main menu, the fly animations are very funny and cute, overall a good game. Great energy mechanics, makes the gameplay more meaningful

Solid take on a Flappy Bird-like game with a charming presentation. Well done!
i love that the main character moves fwd automatically. this saves the player time in the mechanics. one then just focuses on correct timing for jumping. I like it. was fun to try. i like the graphics and level design. .. if you get a chance try out my Give me the Biscuit! entry .. thanks :) much appreciate

nice looking game.. it would have made it visually cooler if there were fly stickers, or buzzers in the map instead of the spikes.. everyone knows spikes don't kill flies.. but buzzers do.
These are supposed to be nose hairs since you're, well, in a nose, but they ended up looking more hook-like or spike-like than hair-like so I totally get where you're coming from. I actually updated them already but not in time, so will add it in the post-jam version.
Oh, a sidescroller that I enjoy! (and that isn't insanely hard from the get-go...)

Nice game, it works well and it's and nice twist on flappy bird. It's just a bit unfortunate that at some points it's not challenging enough and that there's no sfx. Otherwise great project, it's cool that you added a leaderboard, always cool to have this feature in this types of games.
Totally agree. Sfx are bugged but I'll fix it after the voting period ends.
As for difficulty, unfortunately I didnt have much time to work on the chunks that are stitched together (making it "endless"), and the lack of missiles/laser beam really takes away a lot of the tension. I also completely forgot to ramp up the speed as you play, so it ends up being very monotonous so you're absolutely right. As for the leaderboard - it isn't actually connected online sooo ye its just for show for now xD
Post-jam version will have a bunch bugfixes and improvements, and actually adding the missing mechanics and items and what-not to make it more fun and increase replayability
Nice job, this really reminds me of Geometry Dash! You guys have a fun mechanic with the fly and I enjoyed how you all rolled with it.
Thank you! :D I tried to make it a bit more interesting with the stamina so the fly gets tired if it hovers too much, but would've liked to add some more to spice things up. Hopefully in the post-jam version!

I agree with the addition of a tutorial or some instructions (I only found out I can fly from the guy who only found out he can fly from the comments xd). Overall fun game, and I like the additions to the traditional "jump on stuff" platformers, namely flying and going underground.
Fly was inspired by this game I came across called Flightless Fables which has a very minimalist style that's oozing with charm. Tried to replicate that but with my own style.
As for going underground, you actually aren't meant to do that xD It's the remnants of a similar game (that was never finished) where you play as a bunny who can burrow into the ground to dodge. I do like that as a mechanic and twist to the endless runner formula but didn't fit the fly in nose theme so will need to update to remove it. Thanks for letting me know :D
Right now the game itself is very basic because I didn't get time to include what I originally intended, but I at least (somewhat) finished a game which was one of my goals going into this :D
Also yes definitely needs a tutorial, will add one in the post jam version, but in the meantime going to update the itch page to clearly explain the controls. Thanks a lot for your input!
It could use some sort of in game tutorial or manual (I only found out you can fly with mouse from the comments), but as is, it is a very nice and simple endless runner.
Definitely! I'll update the page to indicate the controls at least so people arent left guessing, but I fixed a bunch of bugs and added the art in this latest version. Thank you though!
There are some sections that I can't figure how to pass. I think there is some kind of double jump but im now always able to pull it. Also, I think that the reaction times in some parts is very short (specially on the ones you have to jump over the jump mushroom on short platforms).
Also, when grabbing onto an edge, the fly sprites becomes giant (idk if is a bug or a feature).
Overall, is a good game.
Yeaaah that was a bug, but fixed it now. You should use the mouse to hover up, not keyboard. I forgot to remove that and didnt add anything on the itch page to clarify. Will do that soon!
Starts very quickly, giving little time to figure out how the game works. Also I feel like some parts are impossible ? maybe I'm missing something, but some jumps seem way higher than I can reach.
Its still bugged to be honest xD you're supposed to hover with mouse not jump, I just didnt have time to take out the old jump.
Feel free to check back in a day when all the bugs are fixed and the actual art assets added are properly displayed! (you're not supposed to be collecting carrots but shh)
Updated! Sadly couldn't get everything I wanted in, but enough for it to be functional with the stamina system I envisioned and the art for most things. Will update the description with details for what didnt make it in and all that. Feel free to give it another try :D
