Difficulty definitely needs tweaking. Feel free to try again after the voting period ends when it's adjusted and leaderboard is functional. Thank you though! :D

Totally agree. Sfx are bugged but I'll fix it after the voting period ends.
As for difficulty, unfortunately I didnt have much time to work on the chunks that are stitched together (making it "endless"), and the lack of missiles/laser beam really takes away a lot of the tension. I also completely forgot to ramp up the speed as you play, so it ends up being very monotonous so you're absolutely right. As for the leaderboard - it isn't actually connected online sooo ye its just for show for now xD
Post-jam version will have a bunch bugfixes and improvements, and actually adding the missing mechanics and items and what-not to make it more fun and increase replayability
Great work! Absolutely love the artstyle. It turned out really well :D One thing that I found missing was some sort of direction aid like a map or something more ingrained in the levels, but because rooms are often so large with multiple routes it felt like I'm missing out on something if I just go a certain way. This made me (which might be of interest to the game/level designers) alter my playstyle, switching from calculated jumps and grapples to just spamming it in a direction hoping I run into a wall or ground and not something that would kill me (which in turn made the game feel unpredictable and in-turn frustrating in a way after a certain amount of time?)
That being said, again I enjoyed it overall, and amazing job with the art :D
Fly was inspired by this game I came across called Flightless Fables which has a very minimalist style that's oozing with charm. Tried to replicate that but with my own style.
As for going underground, you actually aren't meant to do that xD It's the remnants of a similar game (that was never finished) where you play as a bunny who can burrow into the ground to dodge. I do like that as a mechanic and twist to the endless runner formula but didn't fit the fly in nose theme so will need to update to remove it. Thanks for letting me know :D
Right now the game itself is very basic because I didn't get time to include what I originally intended, but I at least (somewhat) finished a game which was one of my goals going into this :D
Also yes definitely needs a tutorial, will add one in the post jam version, but in the meantime going to update the itch page to clearly explain the controls. Thanks a lot for your input!
Hi there! Thanks a lot for playing and letting me know where you got stuck!
That portion of the game was actually designed with a double jump in mind which I changed to a dash at the last day due to a bug. However, I couldnt get around to tweaking the level design itself to make sure the player can still traverse it.
I THINK you can still get around it by glitching over the spikes by taking damage, then get to that ledge with the mushroom in the 2nd screenshot, then roll down the tunnel and up the left side. That or, before you reach the checkpoint, but after you get the serum, force yourself to die to respawn up where the last checkpoint was.
I also notice you have a heart bug xD it should always be 3 max.
Sorry about that! Will definitely tweak for the post jam version as well as add the boss I was working on!
Thank you so much for the constructive criticism! Lots of points to discuss (which's good!):
- First of all, the art you see in game is the placeholder art. I created the actual assets but ran out of time before we could import them into the game.
- Yes! 100% agree about the stairs being frustrating. When making my own tile-set (the one in game is a placeholder one we found online) I ended up removing the stairs all together for that very reason.
- Making it so the player can't exit roll mode when in a narrow area is actually on the to-do list :D
- The bump is intended so you don't accidentally roll into the frog, which seemed to happen a lot when playtesting. Though it can definitely be done better. Any ideas?
Would really appreciate it if you could check back after the voting period ends to see how it compares to this version! With the actual art used, as well as the bugfixes and tweaks mentioned in the description :D
Oh god, this' so sad xD The art is amazing, especially the colors. My problems are that his movement is a bit too slow for me and the ladder would be better if there's a different animation for it, though I know that's hard to do in such little time, I'm just nitpicking really. Lastly, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way! I think it's best to have someone proof read your English, especially since it's a dialogue-heavy game. All in all great little game, definitely enjoyed it!
I know this has been out for quite some time but i've just seen the youtube video and figured I'd give it a try!
Love the simplicity of it, and the fact that it was made in such a short time! Would definitely benefit from Forgiveness Mechanics like Coyote Jump, Jump Buffer/Input Buffer and reducing the collision hitbox for the boss as well as adding some sort of telegraphing animation that he's about to hit (his attacks are pretty sudden and I believe you can get hit by the arm as well, not just the claw?) Lastly, would very much help if there were some invincibility frames so the player doesn't lose 2 of their lives every time they mess up. I understand most of that needs time though, so for the time frame, this is definitely well done!
Simple and enjoyable, with great visuals and polish. My only criticism would be the shooting SFX is a bit too loud at times, and the map is quite large so, a mini map of sorts would be a nice addition (definitely appreciated the counter at the bottom though!) Overall, I really enjoyed the game :D Best of luck
Thank you so much! This was our first ever game jam and to be honest, the game isn't what we had intended at all, but we had very little time to dedicate to it and I suppose that's what happens in game jams. Hopefully we complete it over the weekend though :) Here's my Artstation and Instagram as per your request.
PS. Loved your game by the way! I'll be sure to leave a comment on your page to help you out ;)
