How does the game fit the theme?
It's an ironic twist on the theme. It's a typical top-down space shooter. You've played a million of them. Nothing can go wrong...until thrusters malfunction, targeting systems fail, and asteroid storms pound you.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music and sound effects. Citations in game description.

Making an arcade game is the fastest way to my heart. Had lots of fun playing this :)
Nice game! Well done!
Cool game! The malfunctions made the game chaotic but not impossible, and really fun!
I really liked the variety of “breakdowns”. It was fun to keep playing to see what else could go wrong
This game made me feel anxious but in a good way xd It was satisfactory to use the shields and making everything in the screen to explode.
The game was very enjoyable. I think it is a really good work for 1 week and 1 person
I love the twist of mechanics going wrong and the robot warning you of it so that you can prepare! It's a fun game with room to expand on. For example, sometimes it was a little hard for me to distinguish an asteroid from the background, and would die unexpectedly. So perhaps a little more contrast and a full screen option could help. It could also be nice to add upgrades in between stages, like faster shield regeneration. I got unlucky and got an asteroid storm two times in a row, but since my shield was on cooldown, I lost immediately. It could also be a skill issue on my part haha.
Good job!
Great job! Music really gives it that retro shmup feel. The malfunctions were a masterful twist, even if that thruster malfunction made me nervous a lot. Things did start to feel a little stale by the 3rd and 4th rounds. Perhaps either more malfunctions or making the existing ones more intense would've gotten the job done? In any case, I think this is quite a solid entry for 1 week. Nice work!
I really liked this game, especially the sound and the robot! I think it could've used more time on the basic mechanics, and especially the malfunctions which don't really seem to affect the gameplay as much as they really should.
Captain Falcon salutes you from space!!
Love the asteroid synchronicity =)
