Interesting puzzle bosses. I don't think I'd have solved the snake if I hadn't read other comments.

This game and its bosses are super creative! Even though there were only 2 (If there were any other bosses, I couldn't find them) I had a lot of fun fighting them!

The first boss was really fun to fight, I instantly got drawn in with the way the fight was like a puzzle and you had to figure things out, just like in Zelda games. I'm also a Bomberman fan so that gets you extra points. I think the fight goes on for a little too long though, so maybe try giving the boss different types of bombs to throw at the player.

For the snake boss, I love how the hitbox of it basically gets smaller the more you damage it. It was a bit tricky to get used to the timing for hitting its body segments back, but once I got used to it I also had fun with the boss.

One small criticism, when you get hit, it's sort of hard to keep track of the player since the damage animation turns you completely transparent. I'd recommend just fading to partial transparency so it

I think visually the game would benefit greatly from some additional 2D lighting, I recommend looking at how to do this in Unity with the URP. It wouldn't take long and would definitely add a great atmosphere to your game.

This is probably just personal preference but I think the movement and roll speed should be a bit faster, especially when the camera zooms out because then it feels like you're moving super slow lol (but I understand it's meant to be like Zelda, so that's probably why it's that specific speed).

For a whacky setting like this, I think it'd be great to have a crazy story to go along with it, perhaps with some short cutscenes or dialogue exchanges.

Overall, this was a great entry!

Thank you for all of the feedback!

We wanted to do story but we ended up running out of time, unfortunately. This is only our second game together, so maybe we set our expectations a little too high. Overall, I appreciate your feedback as it will help us improve going forward!

Great game, I think it has a lot of potential. I suggest you add some sort of feedback to know when the boss is hit (I realized I was hitting the snake because the ball disappeared) and speed up a bit the player's movement.

I hear this feedback and I appreciate it!
Thank you, we will make changes in the future to better show things such as this! :D

That was very nice ! It took me a few tries to understand how to beat the snake boss, though I found a trick to make it stuck in a corner. The second boss was amazing, the mechanic was interesting, original and was explained well. Good job !

Note: As I said to another dev, you might want to check the “Windows” option on your uploaded file. It will help people find it, and will allow players with the Itch app to install it with 1 click instead of having to download the archive.

Hi Geegaz! Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm glad the introduction to the bomb boss was straightforward and well explained! We wanted to do something similar with the snake boss but ran out of time. I'm not against patching it.
I've checked the windows mark on the game, and I'll definitely do that from now on (as well as make more versions). I look forward to seeing your pooling implementation in the tech chat.

Wow! I had a good time! I liked a lot your pixel art and the soundtrack is top notch! Very well done!

I found a small bug, when the big snake killed me, I got stuck in the menu and had to forcibly reset the game. Its probably an easy fix.

Good job!

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun. My team and I worked hard and I know I learned a lot. I'm certainly proud of what we were able to get done!

Thanks for the bug report! I'll take a look into it and try to patch!

Glad you liked the art! This was my first time doing Pixel Art for the environment and I had a lot of fun!

Very nice!

Beat both bosses (snake on 2nd try because it the controls weren't immediately clear and I had to figure out how to damage him). The boss fight mechanics (and especially the visual design of the snake) were great, and it was unfortunately over all too quickly.

Technical note, I couldn't play it on my widescreen monitor (2560x1080) the top and bottom of the screen where cropped off, and I think on my other monitor (4k) the snake may have gone out of bounds, not sure if that was intentional or not?

Otherwise really nice, precise and reactive movement on the character and great music, overall really enjoyable game.

Thanks for playing!
I appreciate the feedback. With my regular 1080 monitors would have never thought about different resolutions. That's something I'll definitely look into for the future.
The snake boss isn't intended to go outside. Some of my friends tested the game for me and that seems to happen every so often ( but luckily not all the time)  I'm gonna attempt to iron out a few of those bugs!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I was able to have a fight against the snake.

It was quite hard because the speed of the player is slow comparing with the snake.

Developer

Hi Misterm,

Thank you for playing! Dodging has a few frames of invincibility, and the snake can be damaged by hitting the body back at the snake. The speed has been adjusted throughout testing, and may be tweaked again depending on more feedback.

A fun strategy is to dribble the balls on a wall until the snake is close enough.

Hope this helps!
