How did you/your team interpret the theme?
Instead of playing as the hero you play as the hero's horse. You leave the knight behind you and you try to open the way for the hero.

How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
I Certainly learned a lot, it was a lot of fun and i met a few really cool people. Sadly the game isn't as polished and as big as i wanted it to be but i'm really proud of it.

The art is clean and gameplay is solid. I think the idea is really relevant to theme +

I couldn't pass the spike sandwich, kept dying there. but I'm not too good at tight platforming.

I had the time of my life playing this game!

This is a nice little game! The art is really nice and it controls decently. I'm a big fan of precision platforming and would love to see this developed further with additional mechanics and levels. Nice work.

Developer

Really glad to hear it, thanks!

We all know mounts are the real heroes anyway, right? Nice job, great art! Would be nice if it was mentioned in the game that the double jump only works without the knight. I had to look at the game page to figure it out.

There's a solid base to work from here, so if you plan on making updates, I'd like to suggest making the horse respawn without the knight if the knight wasn't on his back at death. Constantly having to re-dump the knight breaks the flow of the game.  Still a game to be proud of!

Thx that's a really good advice!

lol this is awesome! I love the idea of hero as worthless luggage. Some of the jumps toward the end of the game remind me a little of IWBTG or Meat Boy, requiring a close eye on your distance from the spikes. I think your jump sensitivity is tuned enough that this doesn't feel too unfair, but I say that as someone who loves difficult platformers.

Visual design -- characters, backgrounds, and everything, is awesome!

Shame about the lack of music and more sound effects~

Developer

Yeah it took me some time to balance the spikes and the jump sensitivity  and now i really feel like the game is balanced so thx for noticing that!

Sadly i'm not really a musician and i didn't have the time to find or make something simple.
Thx for the feedback!

Nice jam game! Interesting concept to play as the horse. Gameplay is pretty challenging, which is good for this kind of game. One thing that bugged me was the collision in later levels, it seemed unfair when horse is not visually close to hitting the spikes.

I don't know the theme for the jam (tried to look it up from the jam page) so can't really give any points for that.

Thx for the feedback!

Also i'm sorry that you felt like the game was unfair but the spikes actually have smaller hitboxes then you propably think.

A simple but effective mechanic, the art is great. Sad there is no music. I liked it.

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed it,
sadly i didn't have the time left for the music.
