The physics were a little strange to get used to, but once I really learned how to slingshot it was super fun! As a heads up, if I hold down multiple movement keys at once (e.g. left, up, and spacebar) and I'm not looped on anything, I'm able to sort of give myself huge amounts of horizontal speed that let me fly off way far. Great compact experience overall!
The visuals in this game are amazing with it's 3D and 2D look.
The gameplay is neat, but the controls can be wonky sometimes. I could only jump 1/3 times since it feels like the player is stuck to the ground, so I'd recommend cutting off any time to get the player straight to jumping. I also recommend switching the mouse controls where the left button is to grapple and the right button is to throw since it feels more natural.
Other than that, this was a really polished-looking game.
I really loved the visual style of this game. Both the 3D models and 2D sprites were really well done and the use of dithering combined with the colour palette gave the game a really cool look.
The gameplay was pretty unique, however the physics could be a little wonky at times. I'm not sure if this was intentional or a bug, but I could move really, really fast by holding W or S while moving left or right. The grapple/launch mechanic felt a little hard to control as well, but when I did get a good jump it felt really satisfying to chain the jumps together.
Pretty neat game overall!
I would play an entire game with this art style, no joke. This game just exudes style and charm. Jumping can be a little finnicky, and some platforming bits are tough when the cursor leaves the screen. Great work, nonetheless. Would love to see this project expanded outside of the jam!
