Really nice style, and the gameplay is simple but enjoyable!I liked the ragdoll on kicks, they were fun and satisfying to perform. I did have to press the Windows key to be able to use my mouse to return to main menu on death. The health bars of distant enemies were a bit distracting since they were the same size as nearby enemies, so crowded rooms were difficult to make out. I think scaling the health bar down somehow and having it consistent with the distance of the enemy would make help! Good work!

Love the vibes here a ton, and I think you've got a really good idea. the biggest thing holding this game back is just that most of the enemies are hit-scan, so you die really quickly, making it so I have to play really defensively and hide. I think that if the player had more opportunities to heal through combat, this could be a lot of fun, because then you suddenly have more of a reason to stick you head out from cover, and really get a chance to use the other upgrades you've gotten through killing enemies. I love how reloading does damage, I think a future iteration of this could be really impactful with this. Overall I think theres some really good ideas in here, so I actually really wanna see this one worked on some more

Okay this is a jam entry where I have a lot to say, so I'm going to divide my thoughts into a bullet list of good stuff and things that need improvement. I also totally understand that most of complaints are going to be from stuff that was from time constraints, and I'm only giving my input so you can fix these issues and either improve this game or make more awesome games in the future.

Cool stuff:

  • Changing perspective with tab is pretty cool, don't see too many 3rd person games do that
  • Kicking mechanic is entertaining, it's nice how enemies ragdoll and get back up after being kicked
  • 3D models look pretty nice and they're fully rigged with animations too, I imagine that ate up a lot of time.
  •  I like how the Vampire Queen throws away her guns after firing and that this does damage that's another cool mechanic
  • It's cool how you get more powerful as you defeat enemies that improve your abilities.
  • Project for the most part looks cohesive with the style, I think lighting & UI are the only things out of style and that the textures seem to be relatively high res.
  • The map design is nice I especially like the cathedral at the end of the map.

Things that need improvement:

  • Biggest issue is the the death screen isn't working, I can still control the player and I think it might be showing the win screen with final time instead?
  • Enemies are static but they sometimes move, it seems only the ones holding guns move around sometimes?
  • The enemies with brooms rarely attacked me, they definitely need to chase after the player.
  • Shooting enemies are way too accurate and can annihilate you from across the field, forcing you to mow down enemies to refill health. I would make them chase and then fire when they are a certain distance away, otherwise they seem kind of unfair.
  • The jump gets way too powerful, eventually it could let me clip over the map.
  • Lastly a very minor issue but the 3rd person camera could clip through walls.

only 5 ratings is criminal! The art style alone deserves more attention than that, super cool vibe. Really enjoyed running and gunning down tons of guys, and my jump got so many upgrades that I jumped straight out of the map. I would suggest changing the hexagon scifi material on the barriers to something more fitting with the rest of the theme but otherwise this is just fun, well done guys!

the music was nuts and i really loved how the main character and the world looked! shooting was satisfying but i feel like it really lacked some hit feedback. also whenever i died i was able to still run around for some reason

Music and presentation is great!!

Think it would help to provide some visual feedback as to how to avoid enemy attacks, which might also provide another form of skill expression to the player as they learn how to dodge attacks!

Would love to see how the mechanics can be expanded upon as well :)

You might enjoy our game as well! It can get pretty tough just like this one :)

It's pretty cool, probably too many enemies or atleast too punishing so it doesn't feel like you can really make full use of the fast movement without being shot to death, but it's a neat little thing
