Played the full version and liked the warp around effect. The design of the levels could use more specific design. Like on part could have no enemies and just the blocks when you go on them they break just use lots of those. You could use the warp to different version where you go up and down thing and just have a part that uses that a lot.

Overall this has lots of cool ideas and lots of neat objects.

I finished the full version of the game and I have to say that I really like some aspects of this and others I think could use some work.

First of all the artwork is insane. The detail in the backgrounds, the colors, the little animations for the smallest of things like the rats turn around animation - all of it superb.

I like the level design in a sense because of the way you wrap around the game world and how spaces connect to each other. It never really comes into play in the actual navigation because it is quite rail roady (except for one section in the end but even that wasn't too much of an issue), but it gives a nice idea of how the two worlds are connected to each other.

The actual level design is a bit hit and miss tho. I am not the biggest fan of the endless enemy tunnels and strings of floating blocks that you need to jump on. The approach to the setups is quite linear in the sense that you always interact with the game mechanics in the same way. Some more experimentation would have been very appreciated.

There was never a platforming segment that I found really satisfying to beat even tho some were quite long without any checkpoints.

The character movement is also not really something that appeals to me personally but I can see what you were going for. I just don't like it when the jumps are this high and there is a lot of horizontal speed. It feels very frantic and volatile to me. Also I think the areas for grabbing ropes are a bit too small.

Keep in mind that those things I critiqued are just my take tho. This is clearly very well made and this may just not be the kind of platforming I prefer. The presentation, music and storytelling already push this a lot in my opinion. So ultimately great job.

God damn such great art! The music is good too, dealing with the long necked enemies was a bit weird. The game gives off a calm, relaxing vibe. After I got the wisp key the game bugged but hey, at least I got to enjoy those beautiful backgrounds to their full extent!

this is perma bug breaking the game after the tutorial, we were not allowed to upload a fix for the jam version so we had to leave it that way, but if you're interested and wanna play more, in the description there is a link to the fix version and web gl build ;)

Quite lovely, the design of the creatures, the backgrounds the art are all great. I am pleased!

Stellar art style and music, I'm really captivated by it!

The level design is really good too! I'm never quite lost but some of the later paths are teased when you go, and I also love the hidden area because it's hinted in the map itself! I like how the player controls too, though the camera moves too fast when I jump and sometimes makes me dizzy. The only major issue I find is probably the AI for this one particular enemy that you can use as platform. A little warning before they do their head attack would be nice so we can plan on baiting and walk away better, since I can't tell how far is his detection range and when they're about to headslam me- it was a bit tricky to get the right timing.

bug report: I got stuck in this after I unlocked the wisp door btw, mastered the art of levitation and I guess I'm one with the forest now lol

I love everything about the art and ambiance of this game. It's so detailed it's crazy good, and the rats have a really good animation??? Can I marry this rat? Fantastic.

p.s.: don't forget to change your game name in the .exe

Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot to us. Sadly the issue you encounter is a bug we shipped the jam version of the game due to a silly mistake. We were not allowed to fix that bug in the jam version of the game, but if you would like to try it, we linked the fixed version of the game in the description. Enough to say the area you finished is just a tutorial piece for the rest of the game ;)

Looks and sounds great and a lot of fun to

maybe a faster respawn time would be nice but this felt super polished, good work!

Great job! This has insane levels of polish, and I can tell you used your time extremely wisely! You should be very happy with your game :D

The art just grabbed me into your game. The atmosphere is a real pleasure.

Here are some pieces of advice:

  • Be careful of motion sickness: When you use a portal and the whole screen is rotating, I get headaches and feel nauseous.
  • Some elements need more contrast, especially in the cavern biome: I had some difficulties seeing the blocks.
  • It might be part of your design, but when I die, the whole scene isn't reset, so some elements are just missing.

And the first mouse I saw was so cute that I just tried to cuddle it and I died :'(

The tone of this game is really phenomenal. I can't take my eyes off it! From the environments, music, characters, levels, it feels very fleshed out  and I like the way the theme was interpreted. I did have a little trouble controlling my character-it felt like I was always bumping my head on something. Hope you continue to work on it after the jam.

Super fun!

This is some of the cleanest pixel art in the Jam, no question. The presentation is awesome.

I think I might have hit a bug. I went through the spirit block to the left of the crying character and it took me to a forest where it seemed like I was falling forever.

I'm definitely going to play more of this after I get some sleep.

Yeah this is sadly a bug that will happen to everyone. For some reason next scene is not loading properly in the live build so we will try to fix that and ask admins to reupload the fix.

Thank you for trying our game! We've added a link to a post-jam version in the description if you want to see the rest of it.

Everything about this game is perfect. It's amazing how you managed to put so many different things into one creation, so many interesting mechanics, the graphics, the music, everything about it is so original and fresh, it felt almost like I never knew what was going to happen. I would definitely love to see more about this project. You did a great job, and because of that, you have my 5/5 rating. :)
