it plays fine just wish it was much faster

Played it on easy, it was a piece of cake. The played it on hard, was also pretty easy. Overall, when you get your first upgrades, you start gradually balling out of control.

Also, surprised, that you cannot shoot diagonally, like in Pomao. And the fact that the character's speed affects the bullet speed, while realistic, makes aiming more difficult. Upgrading the speed only makes it worse, cause bullets become more affected, also it becomes harder to line up shots, cause you tend to "overshoot" due to moving faster. Unfortunately, not upgrading the speed is not really an option, cause you have to backtrack a lot. I'd probably lower the speed and add running.

Anyway, I think this game has potential if you add more enemies and upgrades and tweak the difficulty so that, I dunno, it increases the further the character is from starting room. Also, a minimap and ability to teleport to rooms(like in Enter the Gungeon) would be really useful.

It seems like you are using placeholder images which is good for what it is. Doesn't seem randomized and there are apparently over 160 rooms. Not sure what the goal is for the player. It's fun and I like the enemy types, but there isn't that much direction with it. There is lots of work to be done, but it has potential. I would add arrow keys for shooting with IJKL.

Iv been itching for a Binding of Isaac clone, so I will be interested to see where you go with this. Looks like there is no end goal yet, so I just played around till I got bored. Had fun, but the lack of a long term goal does limit how long I could enjoy it. Random costs for shop ideas is interesting, though get upgrades for 0 cost almost feels like cheating. It seems a bit odd that you can go though doors while there are enemies in the room and the teleport recharging whenever I pass though a door means I can fully recharge it by jumping back and fourth through a single door.

Also found a glitch where if you enter the door way right on the side you can walk all the way up without being taken to next room.

Thanks for the fun demo, good luck with the game!

I went and made the doors lock you in until you kill the enemies now, and added a few types of enemies that increase the challenge. The glitch with the door is a bugaboo, gotta think of a nice fix.

I'd focus on the actual shooting  and movement mechanics before adding anymore systems. Right now it just doesn't feel very good or interesting. Everything is exactly linear, there is no play to any of the systems. Games like this live or die by how fun and interesting the second-to-second movement and shooting feel.

This is very clearly in an early stage so not much can be said. Is there a goal or an ending? I was in rooms with ID over a 100, is the map seriously that huge? I gave up after a bit due to lack of direction. It was very easy as well, enemy projectiles were slow and rooms are relatively big with no obstacles

Where is this game going anyway, will it be like Binding of Isaac, or one huge dungeon?

Developer

There is no goal or ending yet, and the map has infinite generation as you explore, so the numbers will go up forever. I will make it harder.
Yes I was thinking a Binding of Isaac clone would be a fun break from Pomao.

Is there a demo end message somewhere? I am currently unsure if I am just missing a key or not.

Some sort of minimap would be useful. Also there is a lot of backtracking going on, searching for keys.

Developer

I'd love to put in a minimap, but the way the world get generated right now; it makes a crazy fractal that can't be easily mapped in a meaningful way for a human. There's no end message, it's infinite.
