profound and educating while being fun!!

should be installed on school computers for children to have a fun way to learn how to type fast

i feel like my words per min increased by just playing
the music and difficulty jokes are a dream and the gameplay is so intuitive you instinctively know how to play by just using a keyboard alone

I really enjoyed playing this. Your pixel art looks great. However, I found it difficult to read the red text against the background and although it isn't a problem as often - there are times it's difficult to read the white text as well. Maybe include an option to outline the words and/or use bigger text.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Pixel art isn't from me, I merely did some special effects like the weather, the color scheme and a few adjustments here and there.  The art is a mix of free assets and original work from Stingray. Check out the in-game credits!

  • Occasionally can't read the words due to either the opacity or them being over a white skeleton. Would suggest a colored outline
  • The timing aspect to defense seems annoying, especially since attacking while a defense is queued removes the defense. I'm also not sure it's possible to keep your combo meter in sections with a defense timer (maybe make it so defending stalls the combo timer)
  • After beating the boss a second time, I was told to name my 'new' power (same power as before I think). Entering the same name as I had used the first time caused me to use up a power charge despite me being in a menu.
  • On that note there should be some kinda indicator on screen of what word we picked for the power

Thank you for the feedback! About the 2nd point, that's by design. It adds some challenge to get the timing right. I'll consider changing it though. I'll see what I can do to address the rest of the issues.

Pretty enjoyable typing action game, just enough juice to feel powerful.  Excellent pixel art

  • After I lost against the first boss, the chains from the spectre no longer appeared when I fought them.  
  • I feel it would be nice if you could just hit 'enter' if you mess up a word to restart typing with a clear slate unless it's the intention for having to backspace be a punishment for mis-spelling.

Thank you for the feedback! I'll look into what could cause the missing chains. About the second point, you can do ctrl + backspace or set up a dedicated key in the options menu to erase all characters. I just tested it with enter and it works like you suggested.

Yoyoyoyo I liked what little I played so far. Music, graphics, sound effects are all good. Some issues for me:

  • Points sometimes blocking the words to type.
  • Unclear how the spirits work where you type a word to deflect their attacks and then another word to destroy them. The word above the character remains (sometimes?) after you already typed them. Do you have to type them twice? Maybe? Yes? No? Kinda confusing to me at least.
  • Speeding up some parts would be kinda nice, like between enemy waves.
  • Crashed on the first boss, the sorcerer dude. I was using one of the special powers while being hit hit by the boss' attack:
