What do you like about your game?
I'm really proud of the attacking animations, and I like the pixel art style I achieved :)

I absolutely loved the story in this, wonderful pacing and actually left me wanting more. The combat has a lot of potential but did feel slightly unfinished or perhaps not used to its full potential, would have perhaps liked some ranged projectiles that needed to be dodged by jumping perhaps. Great use of the assets you used/created, reusing the same scene for all elements of the story was enough which I think was a great move to allow for more time to put work into other elements of this game which really shows. Brilliant work!

Thank you! I had a lot of fun creating this project, the combat system is coded in a very flexible way you know 👀, it's something like super smash bros combat system, but I didn't have time to create combos, so I ended up only using the click + click + click + click haha. I'm definitely experimenting with it soon! I'm glad you liked the story, I wish I had more time to finish it, there were a lot of scenes I deleted because they would make no sense without other things I didn't have time to make. Again: Thanks for playing! I'll play your game when I get back from work!

I really loved that cinematic touch that you give to the game, the combat also feels very good and the animations are incredibly fluid

Thank you bro! The only thing I regret is not having more time haha

Things I like:

  • 3D pixel art let's gooooo, I'm a sucker for this style!
  • Animations were cool, cutscenes were cool, story even better. I can tell the story and cutscenes were the focus of the game and I think you did a great job here. I liked the nice touch on the text animations, the effect on the music at the ending, the words switching, the character's thoughts during the gameplay at the top of the screen, it was really nice.
  • Combat animations were also cool, not just the stuff in the cutscenes. The 2 hit sword attacks looked great, nice agility to the hits, cool blade blur, the way that the swords glow also looked really good, overall a nice touch on the game.
  • Great mood as well, nice choice of music. I think it fit even the combat, it's not like you're trying to portray violence as cool and exciting in this game, did I get that right?

Things that need improving:

  • I didn't understand the need of the platforming and combat mechanics. There was just this one pit you needed the double jump and dash for, nothing else in the game required it. Combat was also weird, I don't know if you could lose, that first fight took so long I just stood there and traded hits, same thing with the second one so I'm not sure both the combat and platforming added anything yet. Perhaps they were just an intro, because there's this "to be continued" in the end? hahaha
  • Controls were a bit weird too, there was a noticeable delay between the dash and the shift press, and sometimes it wouldn't even dash. Shift to dash was an odd choice too, given the lack of actions on the right hand which, by the way, there was nothing to point at the screen for, I believe? I would click behind the character and he would attack in front, so I didn't noticed the cursor's role. There was a time I clicked outside on my second monitor and it took the focus outside of the game because of that, luckily I don't think you can die in this game.

Thank you so much for that feedback!!

Yes, the combat and platforming mechanics ended up being kinda useless, the game was going to be larger than that and I was planning on adding a bigger map (for testing platfoming skills) the enemies were suppoused to be smarter but I didn't have enough time to put it all together...even the story was too short (I had to delete a lot of scenes).

Anyways, thanks a lot for playing, I get really happy when someone else out there in the world plays one of my creations  :'')

The actual gameplay wasn't the best, although I can tell that wasn't the focus. The combat doesn't really have any skill, or is very difficult to actually avoid attacks. Being good at the combat isn't necessary, however, as the focus is the story.

The story was a nice, short, philosophy question and a brief exploration of it. The actually way is was shown was nice and engaging, particularly the way it worked with the audio.

The presentation was amazing, I liked the art style and the artistic choices were nice. I do know some people don't like "pixel art" that is just downrezed 3d models, which is what I believe this to be, but I don't like the aesthetic. Particularly of those that you can fight.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the story was supposed to be the main focus, and it was originally going to be a bit larger, but I ended up facing some troubles related to the country I live in. Overall I'm satisfied with the result 🙃✨ even though it's not what I expected it to be at first.

Regarding to the art style, I was aiming to achieve something like Dead Cells, but I didn't have enough time to polish everything, but I don't dislike the result either.

Thanks a lot for taking your time to elaborate such a nice feedback! I really appreciate it :)

Greetings from Cuba 🙌
