I really like the style and the idea! I just felt the controls felt a little clumsy, with the shooting being inconsistent, and the character speed was a bit slow for my liking too. But overall I think it's pretty good!
Great Game ! We always wondered why the chicken the cross the road but never thought what if it wanted to buy a gun from the gunshop across the road.
I'm glad you liked it! In this case they just stole it, or I guess took as there are no more rules/laws in their world so everything goes. However in the finished game you will have custom (randomly generated) cartoony guns like in borderlands and indeed will have to buy, find and sell them with the Diego Sanchez chicken
I enjoyed the gameplay and I love the concept! I kinda wish it picked up speed faster because the first 3 nights were kinda boring
Thank you for playing. This is main issue with the current “Jam version release state,” in my opinion as well. There are several aspects, like the camera, character, aiming, tutorial, etc., that need fixing or adding, but, I’m mostly disappointed that the tower defense aspect which was intended (at the beginning of game dev) to be the game’s highlight (gore, physics, and tower defense), turned out to be quite ass. Sadly I ran out of time resulting in the defense part being almost non-existent. I’m glad you liked the concept and gameplay though!
The style is impeccable, but I do have some points of constructive criticism. The big one is that the isometric mode is... I dont want to say unnecessary, but it's definitely not a great addition to the gameplay, especially not as the default camera mode. I also definitely didnt have a clear idea of what to do, or what talking to the other chickens was about, until much later than intended. All the individual aspects were fun, but I think it definitely needs some way to tell the players what the gameplay loop is supposed to be, and some streamlining.
Thank you for the complement and the constructive criticism! The iso view was meant more for the version of the game where you will be able to place turrets and other different defensive objects (I didn't make it in time, which is sad as it was supposed to be a big part of the game), currently it is mostly for the sake of having options when it comes to the camera (I'm also thinking of possible first person view later), tutorials and streamlining in general is a good practice and i will try to add some, but, i do like freedom of choice in my games(terraria for example) so i will try to keep it to the minimum (or add an option to skip tutorials, not sure well see how it goes)
Oh no yeah, I absolutely agree with giving the player the freedom to phutz around, I just think some initial moments of "this is how you start the tower defense section", "this is what all the wood and money is for", etc would help. But yeah! You made a really darn good game here! Be proud, even with the stuff you wish you added; it's still awesome!!!
