What do you like about your game?
I love the gameplay as I feel it is the most complicated game I've made to date. I'm happy about how the physics turned out and about the integration of the storyline. I spent a lot of time making sure nothing feels out of place and I'm really satisfied by the end result!

It was a very fun game, though it did get a bit dark at times so i was like huh why is it getting dark, the little enemies were kinda cute in a creepy way, I liked that i kept fallig asleep bc i would so do that if i was lost in dark woods xD

I enjoyed playing that, really atmospheric!

I'd say for me, it was a little too dark, I couldn't see where I was going a lot of the time and when going up hill, the arrow would clip through the ground and I couldn't see it. I think perhaps setting the distance sky & fog colour to something brighter would help, so you still get the dark look around you, but nice silhouettes of the trees etc,, in the distance.

Good movement controls, even though the enemies were simple those red eyes really did the trick - nice contrast against the darkness, nicely done!

Great title too - I see what you did there ;)

Things I like:

  • Nice graphics, everything was clear to see, nothing was confusing and you managed to make a great mood with it. Good combination of darkness and fog, the way the monsters moved and how you could always see their red eyes in the distance was pretty well made.
  • Controlling the character felt good too, moving around and jumping was nice, and no complaints about sticking that farming fork into them had a nice balancing too, you couldn't just spam it to no end and had to have some timing, which was also very generous, I never had any trouble killing the monsters.

Things that could be improved:

  • Did the food and water had any use? You start with enough to spend the night over so it was never an issue. You created that "sleep" thing to make teleport the character and force them away from the firecamp but couldn't you could just have just spread food and water around instead? I don't know, I just felt like it didn't added anything to the game.
  • As much as I praised the movement, I also didn't find any use to jumping. I guess it was there just for controls to feel more classic but I ended up never using it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm happy to hear your comments about the mood and the movement! For the food and water, you're right; I'm not very proud of how they were implemented in the gameplay loop either. The initial idea was, just like you said, to spread food and water around, but time didn't allow ;-;
