I loved the transformation mechanic! Good job on the terrain generation also :)

I guess items have different colors based on the rarity? It would be nice to know the scale or maybe just infer from the item stats.

I had a lot of fun with this one. The costless shapeshifting adds a lot of fun and variety to the play, it feels amazing to explore the world in raven form and then just plonk down as a pack of wolves to take on an enemy.

I'm happy to report it works very well on Steam Deck as well, only the leftmost part of the log (about 4 letters) get cut off by the edge of the screen. I've set up a community controller scheme for the game, in case anyone else wants to play this on the go.

A small point of improvement: On some menus you use a-z to pick a choice, on others 1-9. It would be nice if this was more consistent.

  • I really enjoyed this! The viking setting is really cool, and the artwork hits home in its simplicity and well-designed palette. The shapeshifting mechanic was great, although it took me a while to get the hang of all the forms. When I first turned into the raven I was like "ooooohhh it's forest" :D

    Some possible bugs/problems:
The mead of recovery didn't seem to recover hit points.
  • I didn't find a way to see items' stats
  • Sometimes it said I see 'stones' i.e. the floor tiles

I died in Asgard during my last run. I had not read the description before playing, I was killing big wyrms then one big wyrm which might have been or not have been Jörmungandr quickly killed me. I'll see if I can find the time to try to win.

The game is cool, you're quickly immersed into another world by all those norse names and the game is quite atmospheric. The 4  forms are distinct enough, the pack of wolves is cool as well as the two different special skills of the raven (the big view and flying over obstacles).

Unless I'm mistaken 'G' is used to pick an item instead of 'P', if you don't modify the game I guess you might still want to change the description in the game page.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for playing! I haven't actually beaten it myself yet, so can't say for sure whether it is actually possible!

You are absolutely right about 'G' being the correct key to pick up items, whoops!
