Really nice entry! Get some tries to figure out what to do. I love the classic feeling of travel to many villages and do many quest. But I still don't know how to go across the river. In my last run I bought a stuff seems like could break the magic shield in the location above the east village. I was trying to get there but some foes are really strong in the outskirt.

The music fit the game, and the sound design is awesome.

There are some tiny bugs caused when you are trying to chat a NPC with vim keys, like [Y] and [N], you don't have a choice to buy these items or refuse the quest.

I've been playing this game for several hours now, hoping to reach the end to fully appreciate all the content it offers. We are looking at a very large project, full of content and many different areas to explore. The controls are simple, which is something I highly value when playing a roguelike.

This action roguelike has perfectly captured and conveyed the essence of Castlevania. The jumping mechanics feel very good, and it's incredibly satisfying to position yourself well against the monsters and defeat them.

I really appreciate the retro, classic, and traditional style in this roguelike. The colors and music add a very distinctive touch, and among all these things, the big fullscreen images that appear when you reach an important area of the game stand out.

In conclusion, this is a great project that I hope you can continue to update and add more content to. Congratulations on the work.

Very nice entry! The gameplay resembles other "action" RLs we've seen, both from Slashie and other developers, with a couple nice features specific to the inspiration: animated multi-tile attacks and special weapon throwing. It blends a persistent overworld with both persistent and randomly generated locales (and ambushes), with victory accomplished through a multi-step quest (that could eventually expand to incorporate more of the OG game).

In its competition state, the game was easy enough to learn if not very challenging, though it was likely unwinnable due to final boss power. However, follow-up releases have tightened things up, and I look forward to seeing more. 😊

One fairly unique thing about this entry vs. others I've tested is its use of music, sound effects, and splash screens to contribute to the mood of the game. Very nicely done!

I grew up playing Castlevania 2 (with no strategy guide...) so I had a lot of fun with this. I love the aesthetics and music, and there are even some genuinely creepy moments (seeing the treeline move with your LOS through the windows was a vibe). I'm finding lots of little references and quotes/lines, and I'm trying to rack my brain to remember how to solve the puzzles from the original. The overworld random encounters are cool and very reminiscent of Zelda 2. At the moment I'm a bit stuck with progression, as I think I've explored all of the places you have access to from the beginning, so I'll dive deeper a bit later. Great job! (PS is there a way to see hp/gold?)

Glad you enjoyed it! HP and Gold are displayed in a bar at the bottom; if you missed it then it means there's a scaling bug in this codebase that I ought to fix (try zooming out a bit for now or resizing your display?)

yup, <ctrl+-> in chrome did the trick! the default <ctrl+0> makes me not see it, but I realized it's because this old man has "Large Text" mode on in Ubuntu lol.
