I like the clever reuse of enemies here, you get a lot of depth out of a handful of (very well made) sprites and types. The constrained space works really well here as well, it gives an almost boardgame-like quality to the play.
Wow, this is a great game! Music and graphics are great, and the abilities all have their uses. I really enjoyed the short, small scale tactical battles followed by the shop, though I wasn't very good at getting additional gems so I didn't get to make use of the upgrades too often :D Great job!
I died on rounds 13 and 14. The game works pretty well, all the abilities taking no time was ultimately an interesting choice, the upgrades feel varied and appropriate and the game looks great.
Fun, challenging, and very beautiful game! I primarily highlight the artistic and visual aspect. The graphics are really beautiful and fit the theme of the game. The music accompanies it perfectly, as well as the sound effects.
Regarding the gameplay, I have to say that I liked it a lot. I am surprised by the number of enemies you have been able to program in such a short time, each with its movement and attack pattern. The amount of different skills adds significant variety to the game, making it even more fun.
It feels more like a tactical and puzzle game, but very well executed and fits very well with the theme of the jam. The number of upgrades you have with the gems and relics adds a lot of variety. It's a shame that I'm really bad at playing these types of games and could barely get past level 4. In conclusion, I liked it a lot and I congratulate you on the work done. It's impressive all together!
Super fun! Reminds me a lot of Into The Breach and Hoplite -- two of my fav all time games! Cool progression systems where your moves level up over play via a perk system, lots of fun tactical puzzles to solve, and good difficulty scaling. Well balanced and challenging. My best run was Level 13.
