Very cool idea, but had a few problems with the execution. First, the top-down view was pretty hard to control. Second, The starting mouse sensitivity was kinda high (this is just a personnel preference and also I found you can change it in the options). Lastly, I think you have a great project here and I would love for you to improve it. Nice job dude!
The artwork from the cover and screenshots made me want to play this. This reminds me of the old Star Wars vector arcade game. Visually mesmerizing graphics are even more in motion, and the music creates such an eerie atmosphere. I feel like I'm lost in this world. Someone should make a movie about this.
Good game ^^
I don’t understand the smily face thingy but it terrifies me so bad I don’t wanna try
Would you like a help menu somewhere in the game? I can add that for the next update if you want.
If I can get rid of him it would be better to visualise that. Like if I should stare at him then let him gradually vaporise when I look at him
You can get rid of him, you just have to find how, but I have to admit that it's quite tricky to find.
Yeah. I would appreciate a guide but I do wanna see for myself while the game isn’t screwing me over lol. I hope for more updates though
I absolutely love the vector graphics look of this game. I was actually wondering if anyone would go that route at the beginning of the jam, and you definitely did a good job with this one. Some nice puzzles and a creepy atmosphere, as well as a "Dang! You got me!" jump scare. I really enjoyed this.
Looks pretty cool. I wish there was a web version I can play
Hello! I'm working on an update, I think I will add a Web version.
Great! I can't wait to try it
Good little game, with a true ambiance. Scary! I wasn't prepared for everything... so, good job, dude. And the music is fancy.
I didn't expect it to be a horror game, that dude is very scary.
Good work though, the game looks really good. The cubes made me very dizzy, but I think that's the point of it, only criticism is don't put the quit game button right behind the ok button xD.
Wonderful game
Some advices
1. The movement operation in the Top-Down view is somewhat counter-intuitive. It is recommended to keep the character facing directly upward and rotate the entire map from this perspective.
2. The interaction distance is too close, the experience would be better if it is slightly further away.
Overall, the creativity, theme and game experience are great, and even have the potential to go even further.
Hello! Thank you for the advices.
I will try these on my game, but for the second one, I couldn't increase the interaction distance too much because of the way cubes detect on wich face the player clicked, so I will have to redisign that system from scratch to fix that.
Thanks for the review!
I like the neon-green visuals which give it that tech/computer vibe that compliments the story. The sounds also added to the creepy atmosphere. I like the combo of puzzle and horror elements.
I wish the monster would appear a bit later. He seems to appear too soon which makes the block pushing part early on kinda tricky. Maybe add something that can stun the monster or something. The image on the push block creates a bit of an optical illusion when you look at it at certain angles. They almost look like corridors due to the visual style. I don’t know if that was the intention, but I figured I’d mention it.
Overall, cool submission!
For the graphics, I was inspired by the Vectrex console that renders its graphics in vectors. I found it pretty cool so I made my game in a rendering style that emulates these types of vectors. I really had fun making these puzzles, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! I don't know if I will add something to stun the monster, I will have to thing about it for a bit. For the blocks, I noticed the illusion, I think I will fix it in an update.
Thanks for the review!
The face when you lose is very scary, you got me man!
I though that it may not be scary enough, but apparently it's still effective. Thanks for the review!
