game's music is amazing.
It's really well done and the gameplay is really good, I like it
I can jam to this soundtrack all night
<3
Great well polished game, this feels like a completed piece which is so cool in a game jam, gameplay is awesome and so addictive but for sure lacking in the wintery vibez :( Super cool game! 10/10
Appreciate it! Well you're playing it in winter aren't you? ;)
Awesome game, I loved the loop, felt like I was a coach training a boxer! I loved the palette choices (although I am biased as my game also has palette swapping), Ocean Sunset is the best palette and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise! The music track is good too, is it original? However, after about 20 minutes the track started to distort and glitch, at first I thought it was intentional but it kept distorting more. That all being said, I didn't think there was much tying the game to the theme of winter beyond a snow effect. Besides that, a definite favourite for me in this jam!
Thanks, glad you liked it! It's 50/50 between Ocean Sunset & Lunar New Year for me :)
I think there may have been a memory leak, every time a tween was created I think it wasn't destroyed (and every loop creates about ~20 tweens), so that's why the application starts running out of memory and music is the obvious thing that will get hit.
Gotta say a lot of people on this jam got too distracted on the "one bit" theme, and didn't plan/implement a more wintery theme. I'm part of that group unforuntately!
The music is original, but heavily inspired by "Hero Appears" from Ping Pong the animation, glad you enjoyed it it :D
this was by far the game i most played, cool and unique gameplay i made my character imortal and the game continued for a hour. very cool :)
Yep, enemy scaling is sooo bad in this! I'm guessing scholars sword carried your player :)
Thanks for playing.
I really like the game loop and the way it's portrayed with the game-board! I was overwhelmed and confused at first, but I kind of like learning that way anyways. The music and art are unfairly good, great job.
Cheers! I probably should've added a little popup hint after clicking play, but oh well :)
The music and artwork were all done last day, so I'm glad someone appreciates them!
Very fun and cool, nice crisp sound effects and solid gameplay. Simple, always get the spiked armor in my humble opinion. While the lighting/glow effect is cool, I don't think it is appropriate for a 1-Bit game jam and goes beyond transparency effects.
Appreciate it, post processing is allowed in the rules though! :)
Really fun game, looks like we both went for games with perks!
One thing nobody adressed in here though... The game is super fun, I'll give you that, but..
What about the restrictions of the jam? I can't really give you points for theme just because you put a snow effect in your game when it's the only winter thing... And it's not really 2 bit either, there are so many different skins and colors in the game, you could say that there's only 2 used with each skin but that's also incorrect as the skin isn't applied on the tooltip when hovering over items (it's still black and white).

Very fun concept though! Seems quite similar to mine :)
hmm, I didn’t notice this tooltip issue. Must be related to the web export, damn it…
Originally there was a food and warmth system, but I couldn’t get around to implementing them in an interesting way that didn’t feel intrusive, so ultimately had to cut i!
was confused at first, after a minute of playing i'm getting the hang of it! really fun loop game!
Fun loop hero type game. I played way longer than I expected to haha.
Glad you liked it, and I'm happy I wasted some of yours ;D
I don't know what to do
Watch as your hero plays the game for you! You just need to choose upgrades :)
It took me a while to understand how the game works, it is a bit disorienting at first, when you understand the mechanism instead it becomes very fun. One of my favorites of this jam!
Appreciate it! I agree that if you haven't encountered this kind of game before, the XP bar in the bottom left increasing slightly (easy to miss) is not a good indicator of anything!
Wow, this is so cool! This game is so good in every way that I played several rounds without realizing it. It is a very relaxing and fun game:)
Apprecite it! :)
WOW
I LOVE IT. I might have broken it. Im in day 99 and everything dies one hit, I overscaled the enemies hahahaha. The game is soooo goood. I have 10 min for each game but here Ive been playing for more than double that.
GJ!
My god man, in all my time of play testing I did not once have the patience to get past day 20, what the hell is the player doing out of the arena ;D
I suppose I didn't balance scholars sword very well, every day the enemies get around 6 max health, but there is 7-10 enemies per day, and therefore you will always outscale the enemy health with your damage... Thanks for finding this, and glad you enjoyed :)
The animation had a bad reset position, the player shifted a couple of pixels every day till he was gone xd
The game is awesome, I have more to play but for now this is my fav
Ah that makes sense. Looking at the code now it seems like it's to do with one of the tweeners getting cancelled. Anyway. appreciate your comment! If you like this style of game, it was heavily inspired by "Loop Hero", so you will probably enjoy that (a lot more) as well :D
Yeah I know, that game took so many hours from me hahahaha
Im familiar with it
