Definitely a unique game in this jam! I loved the colour choices for the b/w look. I'm terrible at math so I didn't make it too far... fun game though!

this is no froggy fractions,  but nice cozy math game ;)

Alright I'm gonna be real I don't think it worked for me, I started the game and the snowballs started falling but no matter what I did nothing would happen or interact. I tried hitting all kinds of keys (obviously including typing in numerical sums) and clicked but nothing happened. Given the other comments I assume the game normally works fine.

Developer

Sorry about that! You should be able to enter the sum of a snowball, which will appear at the bottom center as you type. Press "Enter" and any snowballs matching that value will disappear.

Submitted

Alright fear not, it does work now, you see, I had to toggle one of those stupid proprietary keys on my keyboard for some reason. Yeah I can successfully repel the onslaught of snow with the power of my top-of-the-line, genius math skills........ and by that I mean I still failed almost as fast as when I couldn't type anything, but this time it is definitely a skill issue, lol.

I hate math lmao (dw i won't hate-rate the game because of it)

I must say, using a yellowish white instead of a clear white really did it for me, good choice.

Developer

Thanks! The color palette swap was a bit of a last minute change, but I'm glad it worked out. Appreciate the feedback!

Fun Game! The math concept was pretty cool. Took a while to find the start button and figure out what the game is going to be. The difficulty ramp was good! I got up to 55.

I suck at math lol, nice game!

Love the art style and definitely a unique concept for a game jam. I did not expect to be doing math but it's not a bad thing :)

Fun! I love how quickly everything escalates and gets out of control. Turns out I'm not as good at basic addition as I thought lo

I have some viewport issues and I can't get the whole screen but with an external monitor works fine.
Simple concept but effective. I spent quite a few minutes and my mental calculation skills are greatly improved. Thanks!

Developer (1 edit)

Whoops, sorry about that viewport issue! It may help if you click the fullscreen button in the bottom right. Thanks for playing!

this house is beautyfull!!

Developer

OMG Thank you so much! It took me almost 3 hrs in MS Paint hahaha

Your game is a reminder why I got Ds on every math related subjects 👍

Turns out I'm horrible with quick maths hahah. Fun game, great art style and sound design. Very nice atmosphere as well. Simple but effective this one. Great job!

Developer(+1)

"Simple but effective", just like me. Thanks for playing!

Well clearly I need to go back to elementary school...

Really like the clean art style & choice of colours to sell the mood, well done!

Developer

Thank you! I drew everything myself in MS Paint haha

Submitted(+1)

Oh wow, I thought I was better at mental math haha! Cool game!

Developer

I've head everything from "Add a harder difficulty, pls. It's too easy" to "Oh my god I only got 10 and half of them were wrong" haha. Thanks for playing!

Ow my brain. Simple concept but you pulled it off! I would of loved a more readable font.

I had two little men on my shoulder. One was telling me "It's too hard to read, find something else!" The other said "No it's fun, keep it!" Appreciate the feedback :)

Loved the gameplay and the concept! I'm bad at doing math, but I enjoyed this. However I think there is something wrong with the viewport settings in the game. I had to scale down the page to 50-67% for the game to display correctly.

Eitherway I really like the game and the whole vibe.

Score: 25 | Accuracy 90%

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think I didn't catch the viewport issue because I'm working on a larger 1440p monitor. I see what you mean when I shrink down to my laptop screen. Oops!

You're working in Godot 4 right? Try setting the itch.io window resolution manually to what your godot project viewport size is!

Also try going to Project > project settings > Display > Window and change Stretch mode to "viewport" and Aspect to "keep". Then upload a new project file with these settings. It will most likely solve the problem.

This has solved similar issues for me in the past!

Test the solution on a separate project draft, just in case.

The viewport on itch was already set correctly. I went into Godot and updated the stretch mode. Unfortunately, I think the problem is I made the game 1920x1080, so the edges kinda get eclipsed when viewed in browser on a 1080p display. But fullscreen works much better now! Thank you so much!

Please play with fullscreen enabled if you're having viewport issues!
