Very cool vibe and execution. Awesome work!

It's hard and I didn't reach the top, but the concept is fun and unique - good job!

Unfortunately I have gotten stuck on the tower geometry 3 times now.  It's kind of a pain climbing up there again.
Then there's that one bat: "I guess you'll just have to climb again  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

Everything is fairly decent, the controls are ok for a climbing game, and most of the time the ice axe sticks great to the walls. The color switch doesn't work 100% of the time for me or does it need the player to be close to thee wall for it to actually happen?

Developer(+1)

You can only switch when there's only one axe in the wall, I think we forgot to explain that anywhere. And yeah, I wish getting stuck was way harder than it is. I'm glad you enjoyed the bats though! :)

Submitted(+2)

It is a bit challenging for me. But really fun.

Submitted(+2)

Well, I'm terrible at this, but the presentation is on point. When I was able to, the climbing sensation worked well.

Seems like a very hard game (plays it anyways*) xD really nice. After getting the hang of it, it kind of got easier and much relaxing to play. Though my arm got stuck in a wall and forced me to stop playing.

Very cool game!

A pretty chill game, unlike getting over it, but I tried several times and always got stuck in the wall sooner or later in a way that wouldn't let me fix it :c

I really like the mechanics though

Developer

Yeah it definitely still has some problems haha. I’m rolling out an update today or tomorrow that’ll let you restart the level!

Fun getting over it-like game! The color switching mechanic totally changes up the gameplay and allows for some clever geometry and level design. I think the jank mentioned in the other comments actually adds to this style of games :D

Really tough game but clever, well done!

The Linux version works!

I echo the other commenters. Pretty hard, but pretty fun. I like the windmill tactic when you hold both keys at the same time.

I got stuck inside the geometry several times with the color switch mechanic in a rather short playthrough (what?! a jam game with bugs?! /s), but with effort I always managed to unstick at least. It is a very clever and ambitious mechanic! Good job!

Also, the title is really chef’s kiss. Love a good pun

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing! Despite our best effort there’s definitely some jank to be had in the game :D but I’m glad you had fun anyway

The color switching is such a cool and thoughtful mechanic! I did, however, wind up falling out of the play area while experimenting with it and was forced to hard restart. Maybe consider adding a barrier to restart the run in the event that that happens? Regardless, very cool, very tough game!

Developer

I agree, you'd need some kind of restart to make the loop more smooth... What do you think, reset the bats as well or nah? ;)

Developer

I was trying to write some reset code before submitting but it broke the game lol, I’m gonna give it another shot tomorrow

Good game. i defenetily cant finish it, cause it's too hard for me. but i like idea

Developer

It's definitely a bit tough by design, hope you made it to the tower at least ;)

Submitted(+2)

I'm not a masochist and so I didn't torture myself to make the full climb, still, I think your game is original and well designed, it was a good experience!

Developer (1 edit)

That's so true, I've only finished it once.  I guess I qualify as a masochist now. Thanks so much for the kind words!
