We have the beta build packaged up now and are just doing some tests on it. Once that is complete, we will release it to you all.

Coolio.

Looking forward to it.

Can't wait!!!

We ran into a couple of odd game breaking bugs once we produced the build. We didn't experience these from within the engine, but do when the game is put into a build. We are just fixing these and testing and the build should be ready to roll. Thanks for the patience. It won't be much longer

Cool.

Good luck!  Hope you guys figure it out!

My body is ready for blast off.

The new build is now live. We would really appreciate it if you started from new games as this will provide the cleanest testing experience.

YAS!

Started from scratch. Many of the reported issues are improved but many are still there as per the compiled list. The runaway memory bug is still there during the rooter repair.

Woot woot

Memory bug is still there in the rooter repair puzzle. Also lost mouse during the repair.

Were you able to complete the repair?

Not OP, but I was able to complete the chip repair, there was a slight delay when leaving the microchip scene (heart in mouth moment), then it returned to the desk and I was able to reinsert the chip into Rooter and he sprung to life and jumped off the desk.

There might also be some issues with in what order you do things there as well as some other bugs. I had to do the puzzle a couple of times before I managed to successfully complete it.

I did it in the icon order from top to bottom:  Chips position first, then circuit tester, then repairer nanobot. Haven't tried doing them in another order yet.

I stopped using the circuit tester altogether. It's useless anyway.

I was able to do all three.
I pushed all the chips back first.  Then tester, where needed. Then used the gold nano.

After I lost the mouse cursor, I couldn't complete and gave up in fury to try again later. Will try when I have some time later.

i lost mouse cursor during repair as well, then game freaked out with bots traveling on their own - had to kill process

Ok. I just had another attempt at the rooter repair puzzle this morning. And no, I wasn't able to complete the repair before I ran out of memory and more interestingly disk IO, then game crashed. Screenshots attached. What I find most interesting is that the memory bug may actually be a symptom of high disk IO. There appears to be runaway disk IO activity that is causing the memory bug and exhaustion. Note that my disk IO is off the charts on a reasonably high end SSD. Which points at some possible issue in the image IO logic probably causing it to buffer in the images into memory in an out of control way exhausting memory by loading in the images into memory too many times until there is none left.

And this is with the latest beta build right? 1.01 (I think it is) - but called V3 for the software download?

Because I have an old Windows 7 system, 4GB RAM, nothing special - and with the latest build, did not hit that memory issue.

And to make sure you're using clean slate games (as in you started all over from the very start of the game)? Not restoring from the previous build save games?

Yes v1.01. Window 10. Clean slate playthrough to the point it occurs.

Memory use was low and fine until the puzzle loaded by looking into the microscope.

I was able to duplicate this issue with high CPU usage.

I experienced high Disk IO and Memory, not CPU. Did you mean memory?

Yes, memory - sorry.

Yeah it takes a minute or two to exit - I noticed the same thing.

I downloaded the game from the main page, launching it says it's version 01.01 is this the latest one? THanks.

(+1)

Yes it is.

Rooter may have given me an inside scoop that Beta 1.0.2 is about to drop... and most of the game breaking bugs we've reported should finally be squashed!

Hail Ace of Hardway! Rooter of drains, Castelan of Copper, Breaker of bugs!

Any chance of getting access to the newest version of the game here? I see the July 25th update; but the latest version of the BETA is still from 2020?

Unfortunately, the glitches/pains prevalent in that version have deterred me, all this time, from playing any of it beyond the first few screens. I would be excited to get my hands on the latest version (given the long list of cited fixes that have been made).

Thanks!
