I was surprised to see an update from Kickstarter in my inbox today. Happy they're still soldiering on, saw mention of Unity and did a Knuckles 'Oh no,' given the Unity dumpster fire just recently. Das oof.

Thank the almighty Astro Chicken we didn't get Day Before'd.

Not quite that dead it seems.

Just poking my head in to see if there's any word on things, see how folks are doing, etc.

Well, looks like the goal is slowly coming into sight, huh?

Sweeet. We started out with a DM for in person Phandelver, but we got one session in and he dropped for personal reasons, feelsbad.

With the desire, nay need to play the game, one of our group took on the mantle of DM and we're currently running Waterdeep with his player character as a semi DMNPC. Started with In person sessions for that, with the idea of rotating hosts, then shifted to online using Discord, D&D Beyond, and Foundry Virtual Tabletop.

Right now the party consists of;
Ivanov Steelhand - Mountain Dwarf - Bard/Paladin.
Anna Maria - Half-Orc - Life Cleric
Raphael Pridefist - Halfling - Monk
Aruta - Half-Elf - Ranger/Hunter

So far there's been some shenanigans consisting of my Bard convincing the Ranger to surf down Mount Waterdeep on his shield, not quite sticking the landing, but survived overall. Our Life Cleric nearly TPK'd us when casually tossing an, at the time unidentified, Necklace of Fireball onto the table we were all sitting around. Skibidiba mm dada BOOM!! It was defused in time, but we now have a literal tactical nuke. No seriously, it leveled a house nearby and used only one tiny gem.

We're all still learning, but most importantly we're having fun, and recreating some moments in Heroforge, like the home run swing the Life Cleric got on an imp with her mace.

Currently we're in jail at the moment, so I figure we've arrived as a D&D party. lol

Indeed. Made Healing pot dice shakers for my group and was wary anytime I spilled, or lost a d4 in the process. Thick soled house shoes only provide so much protection.

The Hardway?

Thanks to a stint of Dungeons and Dragons leading into messing about with Heroforge, on a whim I took a stab at making an Ace mini.

Kinda limited, probably not the best choices for gear and work duds, but overall? Close enough.

While it sucks that they're still having issues, it's good to have an update. Albeit they're pulling a Dark Knight as soon as we look away. lol

Development Hell is an unfortunate layer of the Seven Floppies to be in, but with time, courage, and perhaps enough caffeine <Never enough>, they'll emerge with only 1d4 emotional damage. But then again the Machine Spirit they're working with might just be cranky.

Sewer levels are just the precursor of Water Temples.

Definitely throwing a subscribe your way.

Damn. I'm sorry that happened and send well wishes and sincerely hope things get better for you two.

Oof. I kinda know that pain. Just don't nap in a supply closet, some HVAC guy might obliterate the building on you.

2021 has been quite a hectic thrill ride, albeit slightly less so than 2020. That being said, how's everybody doing? Not just our friendly neighborhood dev team, but all you shiny Space(Quest) people. What shenanigans have you gotten up to lately?

Comes with a dead body in every box.

I feel there's always a demand for a niche game like that somewhere.

If not, he's got one HELL of a clean up on his hands. Viscera Cleanup Detail meets Space Engineers.

Nice find. XD

To be fair a lot of things I enjoy would be nicer with 'Matt Mercer money' lol Just kinda picturing If the Emperor had a Text to Speech with that kinda funding and dayum.
Pretty good show, audio quality is amazing. What did you guys use for recording?

"At least I'm safe inside my mind."

Having both options has served me well in games like Fallout. "I'm gonna kick down this door and go in guns blazing...! Lemme just quick save."
Die horribly, reload, try another route. lol Kind of like Save states with emulators.

Check Points are nice, though manual save/ auto saves are just as nice too. But then the age old mantra must be chanted by all, "Save early, save often."

Either way, I hope the crew is doing well and staying safe.

I'm guessing things are kicking their butts both with the panoramic and the save system.  Kinda how it goes sometimes; Fix one thing and break a bunch of others. As humorous as the mental image of Data from TNG speed typing game code is, everything takes time. If you rush, you get Cyberpunk'd.

Anyone know if any of the team are in hot zones?

I'll check it out after I finish up with Critical Role.

My buddy had to reintroduce himself when I told him I'd never played Loom. Made me play it that night. lol

The Dig is pretty good too, Robert Patrick as an Astronaut.

How're they all faring? Good spirits and good health I hope.

It's kinda like inverted axis on controllers for me. Down for down, up for up. Takes some getting used to, but initially  counter-intuitive.

Lil bit weird, yeah.

It's weird. No amount of clicking, swiveling, or combination there of resulted in the brain chip plugging in. Every time since, no hole, but the chip slides right in. Must be a one in a bazillion glitch.

Can confirm this happening.

Unfortunately no, or at least not yet. There's been a few play ending glitches, here and there, but the inability to plug in Rooter's brain hasn't come up again. Not for a lack of trying at least.

So I eagerly dove into V4, and after making it to scraps' I make with the repairing of Rooter. Everything's going fine until I finish the brain chip...
Rooter's head was lacking the hole, couldn't click anywhere to plug in. Left the screen and came back, no hole.  I'm hoping this is a one in a million glitch, haven't reproduced yet.

Hail Ace of Hardway! Rooter of drains, Castelan of Copper, Breaker of bugs!

Looking forward to it! :)

Was looking through my old memes folder when I found this gem I'd rushed together years ago, using another image someone shared on the facebook page. I think I know what happened to Mark...

My buddy and I every now and then bellow; "Hey! Heeeeeere's your Fiiiiiish!"

I remember being at a summer camp where they let us use computers for very short intervals. Space quest in all it's glory was on the screen, though I didn't know this.  I don't think anyone got off the ship, but it was fun. Then a couple decades later, my best friend/ brother showed me several Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest games etc. He was a major fan of Sierra, still is. So imagine my surprise when while playing the VGA things started to look familiar. Lo and behold he had SQ1. Loaded it up in a dos box and let me have a shot. I was overjoyed when the light clicked. So much so I picked up the SQ collection as soon as I was able off steam. I also recall seeing a copy of Leisure suit larry 3 in a random Zellers in Ottawa. Too weird.

Horatio Null-built and Crispin Horatio-built of Primordia comes to mind.

A major highlight for me has been the referential humor and some of the sight gags. Where else will you find a Flamingo flotilla?

I've got a stack of games and other projects to keep me occupied, though I do check in here at least once or twice a day. Save for a certain not so mighty adventure, I have nothing but confidence here.

It's fun,  and frustrating, yet oddly relaxing. While playing through there's Easter eggs you can collect, like; Light sabers, Gordon Freeman's glasses n crowbar, even a Bolter from 40K. No combat, just... cleaning. Really good party game to play with friends or just chill with your favorite incinerator.

So given our love for a certain master of the Galactic Custodial Arts, a thought has been bouncing around my noggin since I first played VCD.

There's been Spy maps <Bond, Austin Powers>, Slasher maps <Halloween, Friday the 13th, Evil Dead>, even a level reminiscent of a popular holiday song by Weird Al. But oddly, as far as I know, nothing pertaining to our beloved bumbling hero. Not even a Golden Mop.

Does anyone know of any mods, maps, etc that could bring about that feel/ esthetic?
