Thanks for visiting.

-Neat Games (A new solo indie dev)

  • This game was meant to be very small, but I ended up having a lot of extra time to work on it haha.
  • 100% DONE (The game was released on 2020/12/17)  - I will update if bugs are found, but other than that done!
  • Made with UNITY!
  • STORY:
    • This world is suddenly attacked by nano-bots that come together and take the form of electric floating jellyfish like creatures.
    • CAT's home is destroyed by these creatures.
    • The nano-jellies attack themselves to other creatures and take over their bodies like a virus.
    • CAT must leave his home and fight these creatures to find out how to stop this techno-virus from spreading any farther!
  • Features:
    • 4+ hours of game time.
    • 62 Levels (Normal levels, Random Dungeons, Boss fights.)
    • 10 Steam Achievements.
    • Full Controller support.  Enjoy an 80's retro feel with a controller!

  • GOAL:
    • Make a game in 1 year.
    • Be simple enough for my elementary students to play, but levels do get more challenging. (easy to learn hard to master?)
    • Upload to Steam! My first commercial game!

Discord: https://discord.gg/N7wPfbt  (Share your games/videos here!) *Updated link, does it work?*

PS: Brainstorming my 2021 one-year game idea! Subscribe to my YouTube to follow next year's game :D

What do you all this of this DEVLOG video style?  I definitely need to improve my speaking abilities... haha.

  • Game's tentative title is:  CAT PROTECTS THE FOREST
    • I think it might change because later levels go into caves and a volcano... perhaps just:  CAT PROTECTS or CAT PROTECTS THE WORLD
  • Besides the levels I'm currently working on.  What should I talk about in the next Devlog?

Today's devlog I talk about my parallax backgrounds and tile-map decorations!

  • I'm super satisfied I finally learn how to do vertical + horizontal parallax nicely.
  • I love to make make some level decorations that react to the player.
  • Also I'm trying to play more indie games instead of just making them.

*Please subscribe to my YouTube.   I'm trying to grow it more hehe.*

Wow! Firstly, I've followed your Dev Logs and I'm really impressed with how you put together your videos. Something that really stood out to me was your honesty. And I looked back further to one of your videos about wanting to be a video game developer. You were super honest and you gave lots of people hope too. It's nice that you inspire their dreams as well as your own dreams. I really like this project so far! I'll definitely be following your Dev Logs in the future too! I really enjoyed that first video about how you had zero coding experience and you learned it yourself. It just further proves my point that you don't need a teacher to teach you things. After all... teachers and traditional educaiton actually hinders your creativity... :(
