a simple mockup I made on photoshop about the blog section on the homepage.

Hi,

I just started on itch.io to upload my game assets and it is going very well. I love this place. Simple but effective to create and manage projects.

I came to the point that I need a section on the homepage where I can post blog/updates/news about what we are doing and what our plans...etc

There is a just simple text post on the homepage. The dev blog in a single project does not work very well. It does not catch people's attention. maybe just a few followers notice about the dev blog.

I think a blog section on the homepage will be easier to catch people's attention about our current process, our short plan, long term plan or what we are thinking so we can connect with more and more visitors. not just followers.

It could be great that the blog section have category so creators can post work-in-process, news, tutorials...ect

I thought about some different platforms to post news/updates like Facebook fanpages, a separate website, but I really need it happens on itch.io.

So I hope you can consider adding a main blog section on the homepage for the creator. Thank you for the wonderful platform for creators and I hope it will be going very well.

Thank you!

One feature some sites have is letting you provide a link to a blog and it pulls the latest from that. For example, my Medium blog shows up on my Amazon and Goodreads author pages.

Wow!!!... Never thought about it. Could be great idea and solve my problem. Let me give a try and report!!!!

Here's my Amazon author page if you want to reference. It shows my Medium blog posts underneath the books. Offhand I can't think of any game sites that do this, though.

Wasn’t aware amazon did something like that. How do you link your Medium posts to your Amazon page?

I dunno about Amazon, but on Smashwords you simply enter the blog's RSS feed.

Yeah, same on Amazon

Here's the Medium help page on getting RSS. I have the same thing set up on Goodreads (they also support their own on-site blog)

I found a different way to archive that.

So I create an empty project here to enable the community. I really love this community layout and features.

Then I included link to the front page, I'll design a banner to driving traffic to community later.
