Hi! I’m looking for a solo Unity developer to build a small, polished V1 of an idle/clicker game.

What We're Making (V1 Scope Only):

A clean, single-screen idle game with:

  • Click → earn primary resource

  • Buy Workers (1 generator in V1)

  • Workers produce a secondary resource

  • 5–7 simple upgrades

  • 2 automation milestones

  • A basic prestige reset with 3×3×3 build choices

  • Offline earnings

  • A side-panel animated character (3–4 simple animations)

  • Save/load

  • Steam Windows build

What I Provide:

  • Full design documentation

  • Wireframes

  • Content list

  • Writing/tone direction

  • Art direction

  • Quick feedback loops

  • Very simple V1 scope

  • Clear milestones

  • Fast communication

What You Will Do:

  • Build all systems in Unity (2D UI-focused)

  • Implement the core gameplay loop

  • Add upgrades, automation, and prestige logic

  • Integrate simple animations & audio

  • Deliver clean, modular, maintainable code

  • Provide light documentation

  • Build a release-ready Windows executable for Steam

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has shipped at least one small Unity game

  • Understands idle or incremental game pacing

  • Writes clean, readable C#

  • Comfortable working independently

  • Enjoys quirky or humorous themes

  • Delivers on time

  • Communicates clearly and simply

Budget:

€10,000 – €18,000 (depending on experience and speed)

Timeline:

8–12 weeks total
(Alpha → Beta → Final Build)

To Apply, Please Send:

  • Link to your portfolio or itch.io page

  • Examples of Unity games you’ve built

  • Short description of experience with idle/incremental mechanics

  • Estimated timeline for delivery

Optional:

Tell me your favorite idle games or what you enjoy about the genre!

Looking forward to working with someone who loves clean design, small-scope projects, and making players smile through clever simplicity.

Hi! I am an experienced Unity developer. As you can see from my game jam history, I work very quickly, can work in any genre, and am great and handling small, polished projects with simple but deep mechanics. This project seems right up my alley.

As for my favorite indie games, I'd say Binding of Isaac and Terraria. As for this particular genre, it's Cookie Clicker. I like how you can keep coming back and seeing how absurd the numbers get, and how quirky the upgrades and news headlines are. These 3 games all let you make your own builds to feel like a god, which is part of what makes them great.

Hi! I can create polished 2D art, UI, and simple animations for your idle/clicker game fully aligned with your design direction. I specialize in clean readable visuals that fit small-scope projects and enhance player experience. Your V1 scope is clear and I can deliver quickly with consistent communication. I’m also sharing my past work could you let me know whether your game’s overall art style will be more minimal or more stylized?

Hi! I’m interested in your project 😊 I’ve got Unity experience and can show my work on Discord my handle is alison.o_o.

Hi there! I'm interested here.

I have my portfolio here:
and my itch page here:

With idle / incremental development i have worked on some of my own smaller projects here. i have also helped the back end of how to setup multipliers, additions, and temporary boosts for a project a friend of mine was working on. Outside of that I also have a huge love of the genre and have played many of them including universal paperclips (my favorite lol), cookie clicker, clicker hero, and more. The loop of increasing numbers is incredibly addicting (like why have I spent so many hours on some of them).

For delivery time frame, I would say pushing for the simple game play elements such as the click -> earn primary resource, Offline earnings, and save / load would be good to aim for in the frame of about 1-2 weeks. From there setting up the workers and secondary resource, 1 - 2 simple upgrades / shop, and at least a prestige baseline would be good for the next build in about 1-2 weeks as well. From there setting up more upgrades, and full prestige system with a full block out of UI system would be good to aim for in 2-3 weeks. With that we can really delve into bug fixing and polish and fully implementing art taking about another 2-3 weeks. Of course, deepening on work already done / how systems are setup this can all be up to change, but I do believe with the current details provided that this could be done in the time frame present. There is some level of wiggle room here of course, but I would love to help out here with your project! If you have any questions for me let me know!

Lastly for the optional, universal paperclips is my favorite, the simple start to progressive new ideas to new system, to new system is so incredibly interesting and every time flips on your head how an incremental game can be done. Now my favorite part of the genre is honestly it's just relaxing while having that focus. I can focus on in the game while being able to dedicate myself into the game, and seeing my numbers just going up.... it's addicting lol.

Thank you and have a great day!
