Heya!

Please post any bugs you find in the new build in this thread, so we can keep everything in 1 place!

  • (Fix in 0.23) Element bugs with Scepters

Quest puppet:

Ytrus didn't close eyes

This was in the previous public build too, but in vulfox's sex scene he has a line repeated during it, did it have a dialogue line that was accidentally replaced?

Developer (1 edit)

Must be a text box that was accidentally duplicated. Could you tell where it was?

The line before "this was too much for you!"

Developer

Found it!

If you hold the up key while entering room 302 in the hotel the game will freeze and you'll need to close and reopen the game

Developer

Are you sure you didn't press enter at some point, hiding the text and thus "freezing" the game?

Nope, doesn't seem like it. I just rebooted my 0.21 save, and it appears that simply holding the up key will freeze the game without needing to press Enter. It's a minor and reasonably avoidable bug, though.

Is the FROZEN status supposed to reduce a party member's speed so that they go last? When anyone in my party got it, they seem to have the same speed and still act in the same order.

Developer

Oh, good catch, it was set up the wrong way!

Paradino Mine Boss Loot Table Bug (Vergoltung)

While mindlessly grinding QCs, I observed that the loot contradicts that of the stated loot table. Specifically:

  • I received 2 copies of Book of Ice Shards in a single kill, despite the loot table indicating that only 1 book can drop per run.

  • Across 25 tracked runs (plus ~35 prior unlogged runs, not including savescumming attempts), I received:
    • 0 copies of Glacial Prison (10% drop rate)
    • 0 copies of Ice Age (5% drop rate)

Statistically, this is highly improbable. Based on expected probabilities, at least a few rare book drops should have occurred. This suggests a possible bug where rarer book rolls are being overwritten by Ice Shard.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Battle Vergoltung repeatedly. (Or save just outside the boss room and rerun the fight many times)
  2. Track loot drops across multiple runs.

Supporting Data: I’ve compiled a loot tracking spreadsheet to estimate drop rates.

While the sample size is modest, the Ice Shard drop rate appears inflated, and the complete absence of other books is concerning.

Probability Context:

  • Chance of not getting Glacial Prison in 25 runs: ~7.2%
  • Chance of not getting Ice Age in 25 runs: ~27.7%
  • Chance of not getting either: ~2%

Although it could mean I have astronomically awful rng (Approx 0.2% no Glacial Prison and 5% no Ice Age across ~60 runs), I'm pretty certain that there shouldn't be duplicate book drops.

It's impressive that you went through all that trouble, but I'm afraid, sometimes RNGsus simply hates you. One time, I was farming the Fire Dungeon for SIX HOURS just to get one measly pair of Molten Greaves from the Lava Golems. I had multiple instances like this, but Spedu told me every time that the drop rates were correct. About the other thing you said, where exactly does it state that you can get only one item of that type per battle? Just because there's not a specific number next to the items on the loot sheets doesn't mean that you can get only one of them at a time.

Everything Daddy Hyperion said, but I'll also take a look at his droprates to check if there's anything going on.

Edit: I checked the droprates and was able to find a fix for why it happened! A bug-fix for it is coming in the 0.23 build!

Appreciate the clarification! I figured that might be the case, but I just wanted to flag it since I’ve never seen dupes elsewhere in the loot table unless explicitly stated. The absence of a quantity usually seemed to imply a cap of one, so the double Ice Shard drop stood out.

Also, although I may not send prayers or sacrifices to RNGesus daily, I don’t think my luck is that cursed, especially after logging over 25 runs and another ~35 unlogged runs. Glad to hear it’s a bug and not a terminal case of skill issue. Thanks for checking it out!

Is simply walking around supposed to give me TP? It's the same whether I wear Beach Party Seashells or not. When I'm not wearing it, TP resets to normal when entering a battle. When I'm wearing it, I get 100 TP when entering a battle.

Regeneration rates apply outside of battle as well, yes. Lace also regenerates his MP by simply walking around when he wears the Spellcaster Hat, for example.

A thing about Medic Staff that might be a bug:

The healing from the healing attack actually gets reduced when allies use the "Defend" skill. Also, i think the Defense (or MDEF) stats also reduce the healing. Wulfrick has the highest Defense and solid MDEF in my party, and he gets less healing than the others. Meanwhile, Fucko has the worst Defense investment and he receives almost double the healing.

I have put a lot of points on Lace's MDEF, and he gets basically no heal.

I don't know if it's intentional, but it looks like a bug.

Developer

Good catch!

If Wulfrick uses the "Taunt" skill, Submerged Scout will use the "Mouth to Mouth" skill on him instead of the Adventurer.

It makes sense, but it's kinda funny

Launching the game via game.exe pushes the game into a neverending loading screen, with no response, even when launching the executable in the terminal. Launching the game via index.html file shows the loading screen, but yields the following error while loading:

Failed to load: img/characters/~%24omegadeath.png

Did you try to redownload the game? Kinda sounds like your files got corrupted

Tried it twice, actually. I also tried both the zip and the rar, and both yield the same results.

Updating this. Alright, tried a bit more. Apparently the newest version of WINE has some issues with this game. However, running the game in Proton Experimental via Steam’s “add a non-Steam game” feature works perfectly fine.

Afraid we cannot help you with third party issues, especially since neither Spedu nor me own Mac computers.
