The spineless goons of this website have unfortunately delisted/removed NSFW content.

heh i'm not native english what spineless goons mean ? and who's that ?

(+4)

"Spineless Goons" is an insult to the owners of itch.io. They caved in to credit card companies who are demanding NSFW content be taken off this website, without any notice or compensation to the creators of NSFW content.

oww ok thanks, well that suck i guess i'll go solewhere else then any recomendations ?i don't want to seek each of my games one by one.

I thought they were just under review atm and most will eventually come back. Steam has this same issue since that No Mercy game caused all this, there's only been 3 games removed from steam and everything else is still there...

Remember, this isn't the first time itchio did some stupid shit. They have been banned and shadowbanned people before this Collective Shout controversy took place. Itchio is woke, so it's no surprise that they handled it this way.

It's not a bug, it's the result of an ungoing purge on the platform for the same reasons as the Steam purge (visa/mastercard banning payment for nsfw content and strongly enforcing it upon Steam and itch.io as we speak, because of right wing extremist group pushing for it). First nsfw, next anything LGBTQ+, or labelled as "woke" or "DEI". The game industry and the indie game dev scene is dying.

The fact both Steam and itch don't even try to fight it, don't even make a proper announcement and seem so eager to jump directly to full Tumblr purge mode is making beyond sad and disappointed.

ow come credit card company can decide on the content off something totally unrelated ? and sexual i migth understant but lgbtq+ stuff too ?! what's next banning womens from internet ?

I have no idea how this was possible until the Steam purge, but apparenthy that's not new at all and this is the root issues for other bans on other plateforms (Patreon, possibly Tumblr apparently, OF etc...). Also, no censorship is good. Banning sexual content (on a site that has a tag and filter system on top of that) is stupid and ALWAYS a slippery slope into censoring everything and the destruction of media and culture. Not the first time in history this has happened, and it's always under the guise of "protect women and the children" but look into the people pushing for censorship and you see they are full blown facist and biggots. They don't care about the children nor women.

As a trans man, I can assure you their end goal is to erase queer content and anything they dislike. Banning nsfw is an easy way to do so, they just have to push laws to label queer people as "indicent" or "porn" and boom now we also get banend from being represented or even posting anything.

Edit : Apparently some non erotic queer and horror games also got nuked on itch, according to people on the itch.io Discord server. So that last part is already in motion.

Hopefully they grow a spine when they see most of their fanbase ditch them, probably not

Do you know where we can go to find NSFW games instead then?

(+3)

do you not realize? this isn't just "one website messed up so we just switch" type of a situation. The people behind the removal of NSFW games didn't just target itch.io
they went after steam and continues to go after any and all platforms that hosts not just NSFW games but NSFW content in general.

The fucking prohibition is long over and we do not live in Orwell's 1984. This shit's purely political and politics have no place in art or games. There's not a fucking thing wrong with controversy, porn, horror, or anything of the sort. Petitions probably won't solve a damn thing, but there's got to be ways to stand up to the spineless fuckers.

Seriously dude, I am so sick and tired of these crusty ass old people running our country, they need to take the dementia meds and remember that their in the 21st Century.

No shit! My grandmother wasn't as much of a prude as the assholes in charge are. If they took their dementia or alzheimer's meds, maybe hit the bong and got laid, they'd realize all they're doing is manufacturing issues because they think good Victorian children will still swoon and get the vapors because some girl flashed her ankle or wrist.

I just ran into this article that goes into more detail: Once a relative haven for adult games, itch.io begins removing explicit titles - Ars Technica

Welp,  guess I'm taking my money elsewhere since itchio is pulling a tumblr . Its just disgustingly sad to see a company like itchio that was made by  and for independents to become spinless corporate suck ups

They are also moving games from your library so keep an eye on it
